Deception is usually met with scorn, but the trickery of this beer makes for a captivating pint. An unassuming yet rich aroma of ripe honeydew melon and grapefruit steps aside to unleash a full-bodied flavor wave of hot peppers--forgiving, though, in its brevity and unwillingness to overpower. Brewed with Polaris, Chinook, Amarillo, and Mosaic hops, flavored with chili peppers and lemon peel.

Comes out of the growler a clear amber with a thick, frothy, creamy buff head. Strongly hoppy aroma is mainly woody and a little resiny, plus malty and citrus hints. Flavor is hoppy and then some, like fresh pine wood, a little bitter, some evergreen, malty and citrus underpinnings. Finish is fairly bitter, not fierce but still not for sissies. Firm, smooth texture has a strong and persistent fizz. Fire up these here now hops!

What this beer is lacking for in heat and pepper presence, it makes up for in pure hoppy goodness. Pepper heat is near non-existent. The flavor of the peppers comes through a little, though I'd prefer more. The aroma and flavor are dominated by citrus and tropical fruit. Pretty dank flavor and feel. Moderate to high bittersweet finish, with just a kidd of pepper.
