March 2015: 750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7%. Oak barrel aged and bottle conditioned. Brewed with grapefruit peel, juice and peppercorns. Golden colour, large white head. Aroma of farmhouse kitchen, oaked apple cider and apple cider vinegar, white wine vinegar, citrus and green peppercorns. The flavour is distinctly peppery and oaky, moderately sour (not as much as some other JP beers), notes of grapefruit and oaked cider. Pepper and fairly bitter hops in the finish. Interesting beer.

Seperates itself a little from the usual good - but sometimes too similar JP beers. A little more funk, probably thanks to the Anchorage investment. Peppery and acidic, and the grapefruit bitternes plays really well with the acidity. Dry, sour finish.

750 ml bottle. Pours hazy orange yellow with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is brett, sweet tropical fruit and musty, stinky yeast with some pepper.

The flavor is grapefruit and sweet tropical fruit with earthy brett and a peppery bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Overall, it’s interesting with lots of brett and spice. I don’t think it all comes together really well. Some of the musty bitterness is a bit much.
