Mild nose of ripe dark fruits and maybe some oats, slightly vinous. An opaque very dark brown body is topped by a caramel colored head with moderate retention, not much lace but good for the style. Mouth is full and chewy, slippery and clean. Fairly complex flavor profile, hits sweet, raisins and some lactose, slight hints of chocolate and oatmeal, high notes in the back of the palate are tart and astringent in a good way. Finish is surprisingly dry and clean. These guys know how to brew.
