6 Geese-A-Laying is the 6th beer in our "12 Days of Christmas" series and is a return to the more classic dark and toasty winter ale, following the appropriately blonde 5 Golden Rings. Brewed with cape gooseberries, this malty ale displays notes of plums, dark cherry and bright, citrus-like flavors from the namesake berries. Delicious right now, but suitable for aging up to 6 years, upon the release of 12 Drummers Drumming.

A dark brown color with a beige head. The aroma is complex with some caramel, toffee, cherries, citrus, and dark fruit. The flavor is malty and boozy with a lot of caramel and dark fruit up front and citrus and cherries in the back. Overall good for a cold Atlanta day. Coldlanta?

A perfect beer for Christmas Day - no matter what you believe, or truly celebrate. Pours a clear sepia with a fairly thick light tan head that leaves some good lacing. Malty aroma has a fruity overtone and more than a hint of hops. Sweet fruit, mostly pear and apple, dominates the flavor, while malty, hoppy and even butterscotch hints make acquaintance with my palate. Texture is firm and smooth, a bit syrupy, fairly fizzy. Let them six geese a-lay this in your mouth.

A return to being a darker BSA. Nicely spiced and also quite zesty from the yeast. Also sweet and fruity, dark pitted fruits. Dry, sweet finish. Fizzy but full bodied, warming. No alcohol on the nose, a little on the palate. Right between a 3.9 and a 4. 2 Turtle Doves still my favorite, but this was nice.
