We have sourced rare oloroso sherry casks to mature this limited brew. The casks started their life in Spain but were also used to mature some pretty tasty scotch whisky before they came to us. The beer is rich and spicy with lots of nutty caramel sweetness drawn from the wood Colour: golden Smell: sticky figs, grassy freshness fromthe hops, with some cloves and allspice Taste: caramel sweetness and ripe red grapes, balanced out by an earthy hop bitterness Finish: rich and long lasting What to have with it: soft goats cheese, beef carpaccio, olives or figs Malt: I&G ale malt, crystal malt, wheat Hops: fuggles Maturation: 60 days; oloroso sherry casks. 200BBL beer pre-aged in unused oak casks, transferred to oloroso butts stored at william grants, vatted, cold conditioned for a few weeks then bottled.

Wow... Head on an Innis & Gunn beer.. Oops sorry it's gone. Caramel malt aroma. Flavour is sweet, caramel, vanilla (as usual), fruity with a sherry aftertaste. Soft smooth mouthfeel. Don't know why but I always expect more from I & G. Haven't found it yet.

Aroma - fruit forward, caramel, churned butter, a touch of wood..very strange. No noticeable sherry notes.
Appearance- light golden body, clearn with a 2" white head....looks like a cream soda
Mouthfeel - light bodied, medium carbonation
Flavor - caramel, fruity, light wood with some corn notes and light sherry
Overall - pretty blah for a Scotch Ale. Very strange beer. It looks completely different than what I was expecting. Not bad, a bit underwhelming. -

11.2 oz boxed bottle. Clear pour, medium gold, and a creamy white head. Sherry notes in the aroma, along with caramel. Flavour was the basic I & G, malt plus whatever else they throw in. Nice enough mouthfeel. Sweet (of course!) finish. Just above average.

Single from the LCBO in their regular box (with a trippie design). Pours a clean golden colour with a slight amber hue. The white head is fizzy, but does stay longer than I expected it and not much lacing though. Big butter nose with caramel and fruit notes. The Sherry alcohol is mild in the background, blending well with the rest. Light butterscotch taste with hints of bananas and other fruits. Decent light hops in the finish with some very mild dryness. The sherry adds a nice little sweetness as this is another pleasant Innis & Gunn treat.
