Paying homage to the pioneers who carved roads and rails into the rugged landscape of the north, we handcraft this golden lager using select noble hops and premium Canadian malts. True to its style, this lager pours with a rich golden colour and delicate white foam. The bouquet includes gentle notes of fresh cut grass with a touch of breadiness and the most subtle hint of caramel. There's a slight sweetness at the start but it quickly changes to crusty bread flavours. The finish is clean and crisp with a nice dryness. Overall, very refreshing, smooth and well balanced.

Pours a lot of fizzy head and goes away quickly. Has a clear, light straw/golden appearance. Very weak lacing. Typical malty grainy aromas from lagers but with a slight touch of bready malts. Flavours are mostly of the malt variety, mainly breads, toast and grains. Some nutty malts as well. Some very mild earthy, herbal type hops in the finish. Slightly sweet. Some citrus/orange comes through late. Slight wet mouthfeel. Drying sensation. Somewhat excessive carbonation. An ok lager but just nothing exceptional.

Single can at the LCBO, best before SEP 22 2013. Pours a clean deep golden colour with a fizzy-bubbly white head that dissipates quickly and no trace of lace. Sweet fruity malt aromas with some decent grassy hops and hints of caramel, nuts and alcohol. Kind of flat mouthfeel, with not much visible carbonation. Malty taste with butterscotch, but not as sweet as the nose. Tame, with not much hop, not much bitterness. Still, good for a lager, and quite dark and golden for such a light beer (adding a little punch to the smell and flavours).

Pours a translucent medium gold colour with plenty of effervescence, but almost no head. Aroma is herbal hops and grainy malt. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is underwhelming to say the least, quite acidic with grassy notes and weak hops. Not going to become a regular any time soon
