Pours a chill hazed light copper with a frothy cream head that slowly dissipates, leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is soft notes of citrus, resin, and bready malt form the initial aroma. There's a candy-like sweetness accompanying an anise and pine character, that later more closely resembles rye. Interesting. The taste is of bready malt which is present in full force, citrus character beneath is muddled. Lemon and grapefruit pith seem to be accompanied by tropical fruit, with an earthy hop aftertaste. The mouth feel is moderate carbonation and the body is moderate to full.

Paul Bunyan would be proud... Another winner from PfoxyJohn. Muddy orange color, short tight head, soapy lacing. Big hopped aroma and palate: pine, oak, earthy, big malts too - nicely caramelly sweet, some of the rye shows thru, Big Ass Beer. Resiny and heavy, fantastic as it warms a bit. Thank you John!

Hazy orange yellow with darker lacing foam head. Aroma is bitter hop, hop and hop. Taste is same, bitter bitter hops. Long lasting bitter aftertaste. (Houston 201303)

A nurky orange colored beer with a small, one finger foamy textured white head. Not much hang time. Settles into a thick cap. A washrag citric, floral nose. Pine-citric hops and sweet fruit oranges. Light-medium bodied and crisp. Good thirst quencher.

A dark orange color with a white head. Aroma contains orange, grapefruiit, perfume, and pine. The flavor is bitter but has a malt balance, getting some oranges, pine, lemons, and grapefruit. A bit of booze in the finish. Overall good stuff.

Poured a dingy orange/ amberish with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a thin soapy ring quickly. Sporadic lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, orange, citrus, orange peel, tropical fruit hop, spice, and grain. The flavor was of sweet malt, orange, spice, orange peel, citrus hop, and grain. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. The aroma on this one was very unexpected. I found it to be extremely complex and pleasant. I just wish that the rest of this brew followed along with the aroma. Overall it is still pretty good.

Aroma is strongly hoppy, resin and woody notes with a hint of malt. Pours a nice clear amber with a fairly thick pale golden-wheat head. Taste fills the mouth with hoppy resin and woody notes and strong but not ferocious bitterness, and just a hint of sour orange. Bold, if not complex; definitely for only the stout-hearted. Er, IPA-hearted. ;) Smooth, firm, lively texture leaves a strongly hoppy finish that hangs around for a bit. Can you tame this beast?
