355 ml can, at the Granite City (JDW), Aberdeen Airport. 9.1% ABV, 103 IBU. Orange colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Surprisingly moderate aroma of American piney and grapefruity hops. In the flavour, however, both the piney / resinous and grapefruity notes are very distinct - still the beer is reasonably well balanced, the malts are sufficient, with a certain fruity sweetness, and where I expected an unbalanced resinous hell, there is actually as much smoothness as you can expect from a 103 IBU beer. Might well buy again.

Sampled on draft at McNellies South. Pours copper with. Scattered white head and nice lacing. Bitter but not harsh in the least. Floral and pine hop flavor with some toasty malt backbone. Smooth. Very good DIPA.

WHOA! Huge, bold DIPA.... deep orange-amber color with a.... wait for it.... resin aroma. Add the grapefruit/citrus to resin and you have the flavor. Medium texture with just enough malt back to hold it all together. Very drinkable and nice balance for such a huge beer.

This seems semi-macro and massed produced-ish, but still quality beer and affordable for only $2/ per 12 oz. Not quite as clean and balanced as some of the West Coast or West Coast style DIPAs. Pretty hoppy, yet the ABV strength kind of overshadows the bitterness. I also prefer a little more malt...I'd say this is similar to a DFH 90 min? Glad I finally tried, though mainly sticking with the local brews in this style.

Pours a cloudy copper/amber color with a small, quickly disappearing eggshell colored head. Sweet citrus aromas, led by tangerine and mango, and dank, resinous, earthy hops. Citrus, sweet malt and bitter, long lasting earthy hops on the tongue. Very balanced despite being a hop bomb. Mouthfeel is full, almost creamy, as the hops continue dominate from start to finish. A solid IIPA. I will revisit this beer after I sample some other untasted IIPA's.

Sticky resinous hop scent....just as advertised. Juicy evergreen in grand fashion. Slightly hazy light copper body, almost the same shade of honey. Big, thick, frothy white head that creeps up the sides along with a masterpiece of lacing. Extremely hoppy, bitter mouthfeel. Eye opening and an attention grabber. Fruity citrus, loads of grapefruit, some mango and orange with bitter lemon peel. Lots of pine sap. This is a big hoppy monster, but the strength isn't detected until 2/3 of the way through, sneaky good!

A dark golden appearance with a white head. Aroma contains some lemon, orange, and perfume. Flavor is bitter and boozy with citrus, caramel, and alcohol. Aftertaste is bittersweet. Overall a big but tasty beer.

Comes out of the growler a pretty clear amber with a thick, foamy and fine-bubbled ivory head that "pillows" some. The sample I got foamed like a mad dog after I cracked open the growler, so be forewarned. Aroma is not strong, but it invites with its resiny, evergreen aroma that has woody, malty and citrus underpinnings. Flavor is definitely more robust than the aroma - quite hoppy, rather bitter, more resiny than woody, hints of citrus and malt. They ain’t kiddin’ on 103 IBU! Ragged, lively texture has good firmness and lots of tingle, dancing all the way down the pipes. A toast to Sixpoint for finally coming to Atlanta!

One of the strongest noses I have encountered, pop the top on this can and smell pine and citrus instantly for 2 feet away. Nose also includes some floral notes and perhaps vanilla. I love the look but again, like yesterday's review of Finch's Threadless IPA the body is cloudy perhaps chill haze? so will have to knock a few points off of this orangish amber body topped with decent white head with moderate lace. Mouth is medium bodied, slippepry, and spot on carbonation; very nice! Flavor is big, balanced and 9% alcohol fairly well masked. starts a touch sweet, notes of tobacco, sour citrus, some bread, quite bitter, very dry finish. 103 IBU is strong, this one is for hop heads, spectacular IIPA! There are some quite low scores here mentioning weak nose, not hoppy. I don't know whats going on; reviewers or brewer has quality control problem.

This beer pours a nice clear golden orange body. There is a thin white head that slowly fades and leaves a nice amount of lace on the glass. There is not really that much going on in the smell. I get a decent hoppy pine scent with a little bit of sweet malt.Taste is bright, with some light caramel sweetness, there are notes of resin, spices, musty earthiness, and a general bitterness. Finish is crisp, dry, with some alcohol heat, and grapefruit bitterness.
