The color is a golden orange shade with a haze to it, a thick collar of beige colored head leaves a nice coating of lace on the glass. The smell is very fragrant with hop fruitiness which provides a slight piney odor with mild citrus and grapefruit. The malt odor provides some sweetness in the nose. The flavor is nice, the bitter, spicey elements combine with toast and malt sweetness. Overall a rather nice beer.

Of the 7 beers I tried during a tour of their Boston brewery, this was definitely the best and one of the best rye beers I've had altogether. Lots of grapefruit and piney hops along with bitter, spicy rye in both aroma and flavor. If available locally, this would be a regular in my fridge.

Pours a deep gold .. . medium foam, medium lacing .. . light grapefruit, pine needle, orange peel, dried leaves and sap .. . why are tv commercials getting dumber and dumber? .. . such a great mouthfeel, very smooth and slick- i could drink this all night! .. . One of the nicer barrel series Harpoon has released! .. . . if i had a hole in my throat, i'd put pennies in it!!!

This poured an orange color with a white head. The aroma contains pine, orange, grapefruit, and rye. The flavor is bitter with some orange peel and grapefruit. This has a decent malt backbone. Overall this is good and nothing like Harpoon IPA.
