A roasty scotch ale with a hint of smoke. Full-bodied, but not overpowering. Smokey, but not in a creepy bar kind of way. Sweet, but not obnoxiously so. Sound like your ideal mother-in-law? Fair enough, but it also is a pretty dead-on description of our Scotch Ale. In a difficult hop-growing climate, Scottish brewers relied on other ingredients to impart flavor and bitterness – one such ingredient was smoked malt. Drafty Kilt is a dark, malty bombshell of a beer.

On tap @ TAP: A Gastropub in downtown Atlanta. Near black color, tight short tan head, plenty of lacing. Rich medium roasted malts and very subtle smoke aroma and taste, a bit of brown toast, molasses, very earthy indeed, nice rich dark sweet malts. Very nicely done. Very good on tap.

Well its Saturday night but.....a dark brown to black color. Aroma contains some alcohol, peat, caramel, and toffee. Flavor is booze up front with some toffee, chocollate, and dark fruit. This ain’t yo sistas bud light, its hotter than that. Your sister and bud light. Overall good in small doses.

Comes out of the tap a barely transparent chocolate brown with a fine-bubbled light tan head. Rich, malty, chocolaty and spicy aroma invites a taste. Mouth-filling malty flavor has a spicy undertone and hints of chocolate and toffee. Strongly tingly texture leaves a persistent fizz behind.
