Sampled on 1/21/2012. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a dark black brown color from a 750ml bottle. Medium sized tan foamy head, with decent lacing. The aroma is caramel, chocolate, dark fruit, wood and bourbon. A medium to full bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are dark fruit, caramel, chocolate and slightly nutty. The hops are earthy and herbal. Decent carbonation. Lots of dark fruit, lots of wood with a preponderance of bourbon. Touch of alcohol bite. Nice smooth mix of flavors. Excellent sipping beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

regular turtle dove was nice, this was great .. . Pours a dark brown, medium head, dies down to grimey lacing .. . light oak, vanilla, wood, bourbon, and chocolate .. . mouthfeel is quite chewy with a slick sweet aftertaste .. . good stuff .. . The Nose Plays!
