A black beer with Thai influence. Brewed with brettanomyces, kaffir lime leaves and galangal (also known as Thai Ginger, but it’s not too ginger-like), this smooth, dry and roasty beer has clear notes of fresh citrus, crushed herbs and will complement a spicy curry beautifully.

Sampled on 11/20/2010. This spiced beer pours a dark brown color from a 750ml bottle. Large sized tan foamy head with nice lacing and decent retention. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, kafir lime and earthy with a touch of brett. A medium bodied spiced beer. The malts are chocolate and roasty. The hops are earthy. Nice carbonation. Nice malt flavors along with the kafir and galunga (earthy and spicy). The brett shows up mostly at the finish. Some fruitiness, lots of roastiness and a touch of brett. Interesting beer. Very drinkable. Nice sipping beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with a touch of sweetness.
