Made with hops grown in the good 'ol USA... you'll proudly support American farmers when you drink this beer! Light copper in color, it has an intense hop aroma and strong hop bitterness. Our hopback process uses fresh hop cones to take this IPA to unexpected places. Prepare for a mouthful of flavor. Our Head Brewer Says... "Using a hopback gives our IPA a huge, juicy hop taste while remaining balanced. Mild malt flavor is detected in the background." I had this beer at the legendary Howard's Pub on Ocracoke Island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This was a pretty average IPA. The hops were there and they were bright and citrusy - mainly grapefruit. The aroma tracked the flavor. The slight on this beer was that the mouthfeel felt more like a pale ale than an IPA - a tad thin. Overall, great beer. Side note, one of my all time favorite labels. Pretty cool and sexy.

Aroma is more yeasty than hoppy, but still inviting. It pours a clear golden, average, but the fluffy white head is quite thick and persistent and leaves quite a bit of lacing. Flavor is fairly hoppy, somewhat bitter, with subtle fruity and yeasty notes. Firm-bodied texture is quite fizzy and lively - you feel this one when it goes down the pipes. Overall, about average for an IPA but still worthy of a try, especially if you are an IPA fan.

The appearance is a golden color with a white head. The aroma contains some citrus and herbal notes. The flavor is slightly sour with some bitter notes. There are mostly lemons present in the flavor. Overall a little one dimensional but not bad, just not great.

Nose of lemon and pepper and biscuit. Light copper body topped by decent white head with minimal lace. Mouth is medium, slightly chewy, moderate carbonation. Hops dominate the flavor profile but there is a good malt backbone. Hops are floral, lavender pepper, good malt in there with a hint of sweet, lots of bittering hops. Maybe some vanilla and some grapefruit. A lot going on in the taste, finish is a bit thick and bitter.

Rich cloudy gold, a little amber, thin ring of foam. Grapefruit, lemon, and sugar: smells good! Flavor, however, is hardcore grapefruit from beginning to end. Very bitter. I know there's something backing it up, but it's hard to pick out. Not enough complexity. Quite sticky, good body, miniscule carbonation. I want to like this, but it's too much of one thing.
