A big, joyous celebration of all things hoppy (5 different varities). Large flavors and aroma of pine, citrus, flowers, spice, pineapple, and grassiness complimented with a touch of biscuit and caramel backbone. Our most requested beer.

    12oz can -

I want to say it was fargingbastige6 that sent me this. I've kept this thing ice cold from day one in the FAR reaches of my fridge, to keep for a day where I was planning to drink some DIPA's to compare. So this was going up against some heavyweights in beer geekdom and it held it's own. I think some of these reviews are a little high, but whatever...it's beer.

The aroma, to me, just wasn't abrasive enough for a DIPA, but what it did bring to the table was a good amount of sweet citrus juice, some pine needles but slamming me on the head was the cotton-candy-meets-white-grape-juice-like malts. The pour was beautiful...a solid amber body, minimal head, some clingy lacing.. nice.

The flavor had me scratching my head though, as the initial flavor I got was the sweetness out of the beer. That's usually a sign for me that...well...the brewer likes a balanced approach. But the explosion of hops I got on the back end did help mitigate some of the sweetness. But the sweetness was there, so it's obviously supposed to be a more balanced approach, and it's balanced. No noticeable alcohol anywhere, which was nice. A semi-sticky mouthfeel, low on the carbonation level...rather creamy. The fact that it's availabl in a can is awesome and gets an extra bonus point just for that. Nicely done!

reminiscent of Oskar Blues Gordon...perhaps not as malty or quite as spicy. but expertly balanced. Huge fluffy white head that never goes away. i literally found myself chewing this beer. love the feel, and the fruity, piney, and slightly spicy hops are enough to make me reeeeeally like this brew. it's really hard to not have another right now, but I must share. thank you Curtis for this awesome canned brew - it has met or exceeded all expectations!

Holy shit, Lou. That was a fantastic review of this beer! Wish I could top that but instead I'll go with what I know and wrote down. Pours a bright, slightly hazey orange. Not much head, but I wasn't expecting such. Candi sugar or is brown sugar? Maybe both, on the palate. Sweet, full malt backbone rounded off by some delicate fruity hop notes. Thanks to FB for handing this off to my brotha Lou. It was a treat!

It may be from the south, but this hopped up beer is backed by a nicely familiar east coast malt content. Thick and chewy with a balance of spicy hops to provide a uniqueness in the realm of this somewhat broad category. Rich amber pour with a medium head and spotty lacing. Filling with a bitter sweetness. Upfront caramel followed by a fruity potpourri of burnt sugar, sweet tea, citrus and toffee.

East Tennessee and northeastern Alabama have a history of fundamentalist Christian churches with a penchant for practicing Snake Handling. This venomous Southern Bastard comes directly from the fargingbastige himself, hand-delivered like Mason jars of Moonshine, in Dixie Growlers - Two 1/2 gallon plastic milk jugs. Curtis, I am proud of you for keeping this Southern Tradition of Clandestine yet gentlemanly observation of an age-old Tradition. This sinful elixir pours a gentle almost clear light brown from said jugs, with an ample and frothy almost white head and copious amounts of delicate lacing. Decadent aromas of ample pine and grapefruit hops - big - with a good malt presence to calm the serpent. Taste is wickedly beautiful with a huge hops presence upfront like Fire and Brimstone - cuttingly bitter at first - grapefruit, pine and Damnation, offset nicely by the calming Angel of malt sweetness. This slithering serpent is only to be handled by the most experienced Deacons and Purveyors of The Good Word. Yay and verily I say unto you, go forth and turn the water into Imperial IPAs. And it was so. Amen.

Huge IPA from one of our local brewers! Copper/amber color with a two-three finger head - white and fluffy with nice lacing. Piney aroma with floral and tons-o-hops. Flavor is the same with a huge hoppiness... no balance here, but a worthy IPA for the hop-heads (and me, in this case). A winner.

Pours out a slightly hazy copper-amber with an average head - rather appealing. Aroma is strongly hoppy and has a good evergreen component, promising a worthy IPA. Flavor matches the aroma, being richly hoppy, slightly evergreen and just a little bit fruity. Texture is lively and fizzy. Recommended to all IPA fans.
