Handcrafted at Melbourn Bros., Samuel Smith's Organic Fruit Beers gain deep character from brewing and fermentation using the original Victorian equipment. A dramatic fruit beer with an intense, mouth-watering fruit character derived from the natural acidity of organic raspberries. Slow, complex fermentation lends structure and depth to this special fruit beer. Smooth body, finishes dry, with a soft raspberry note. Classic roast turkey and stuffing; chicken brochettes; meat or cheese fondue; or spinach salad. Try with fruit salad at brunch.

Pours out of the bottle a reddish brown color with a bubbly head. The aroma has a sour edged sweet smell. The mouthfeel is just a notch above medium. The taste is a well balance between sour and sweet. This one is better than the strawberry but I don't know why it's priced a dollar higher.

Slightly hazy burnt red with white lace on top. Strong raspberry aroma right off the bat seems natural, tart and sugary, with a little apple and rose or lavender candy. The initial flavor is sour raspberry on some yeast bitterness, which is great, but there's a sudden overwhelming rush of lavender candy and something medicinal, like chewable vitamins. I was hoping for something delicious, but this is not it. The mouthfeel is right, fizzy and light and crisp, but the flavor is just wrong. I like fruit beer. I like raspberry beer. I like lavender and rose candies. This is awful.

Purple-ruby-amber pour, near-perfect head, some lacing. Tart sweet acidic raspberry aroma upfront, then more berries, light malts, very light slight floral hops. Raspberry flavor (imagine that...), sweet and lightly tart, refreshing and pleasant. Raspberries totally dominate this beer, as they should, and they taste tart and sweet and fresh, not like syrup. Will revisit this one.

pours a deep murky ruby color with a pink colored head forming thick, leaving a fine even lacing dispersed nicely. The aroma is full of tart raspberries and fruit jam with an earthy seed based accent. Light airy fruit with tart perfume like notes of raspberry fruit. The taste is of raspberries and it's extremely tart bordering sour, finishes dry after the fruit sugars subside with the sweetness. The mouthfeel is dry finish, body has sturdy champagne like carbonation, medium bodied a bit cloying. Overall a very very drinkable fruit ale.

Well this tastes like crap. I bought it for my wife and she thought it tasted like crap too. It's like some carbonated fruit punch or grape juice water. No redeeming qualities. I would call this a wine cooler before I would call it a beer. It sucks!

It pours a dark brown, red, and burnt-orange with a thick and foamy light pink head and some thick lacing. An aroma of wheat malts, raspberries and berries, cherries, citrus, bread, and light spiciness. The mouthfeel is lightly smooth and thin. Flavors of wheat malts, raspberries and berries, cherries, tart, orange and citrus, bread, and light spiciness. Very tart and enjoyable ..

Wow, smells like cherry/raspberry, very fruity. Slightly tart. I am drinking this with a tuna salad crustini made w/ kalamtas, orange juice, capers, mustard, grn onion and lots of pepper, and its a match made in heaven. This beer has a slightly biscuity dry not to it, much like champgne, and a restrained, tight, fruitiness. Focused on raspberries. Tart. Wicked white head atop pink beer. Great retention. Tough to call it beer in many ways, really has more wine like characteristics, but it has a body to it that can only be attributed to malt. Not to sweet, but sweet. I love that Sam Smith can do something like the impy stout, and this. Two stand alone unique and well made beverages, and opposites of many spectrums of flavour and aroma. Really quite awesome! Same numbers I gave the strawberry but this one is slightly more my style. If we are talking fruit beer, not fruit with beer added, this is probably one of my favorites!

355 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 5.1%. Deep red colour, large pink head. Strong aroma of ripe raspberries and raspberry jam. The sweet and sour flavour has loads of raspberry extract / concentrate throughout, slightly astringent finish, with a hint of hops. Certainly not my everyday beer, but drinkable on a day you’re in for "something completely different".

Ok, ok. I like this one. Neve been a big fan of fruit beers. Pours a hazy amber with a light pink head. Aroma is sharp raspberry. Flavor is seasonal, holiday, and bright. Appropriate for Christmas. Would make an excellent ingredient for some recipies. I am really enjoying this. Would go well with cheese and fruit. Might go over well with the female that is not a beer fan as well. (please don't think me sexist for that - Youngs Double Chocolate Stout is HUGE with women) Mouthfeel is well carbonated and bright with a sligt bitter/sour edge. Finish is clean and actually refreshing. If you like fruit brews, this one is great - and easy to find, as well as drink.

Samuel Smith has always been a good brewery for as long as I can remember so the fact that it is more readily available is a plus. What's not a plus is their Organic Raspberry Ale. Good colour, decent aroma, and tart flavour are the hallmarks of this brew....I just didn't care ,much for it.
