Three pumpkins per barrel (roasted in-house by our own Kurty) and a blend of six spices compliment the rich, lightly sweet malt character of this orange-tinted amber ale.

I guess since this is a different recipe then last year, I shall rate this and edit my review on the other one. This beer is slightly more complex than last years, yet I miss the punch of nutmeg and ginger on the immediate nose from the previous SP. Stil maintains that slightly cloudy orangeish colour with a typically large TT creamy white head. Taste is more forward with flavors, finishes slightly spicey with pleasent rich fresh pumpkin notes.

Per Dave Oldenburg (Titletown Brewmaster), the 2008 has a slightly different recipe which incorporates a different quantity of pumpkin and slightly altered spice blend from the past year. Pours a clear golden color with a frothy white head. Has a malty aroma with subtle pumpkin notes. Sweet malty flavor with a rounded finish and great complexity. This is how pumpkin beer should taste (more like a beer, not more like pumpkin pie).
