This traditional Bavarian-style Bock is a strong amber lager. Complex malt flavors dominate the tawny brew, uncommonly smooth due to a full six weeks of cold conditioning. This dangerously smooth beer was brewed with yeast imported from the Andechs brewery, a Benedictine monastery that has been brewing on the same site since the Middle Ages.

Pour from a growler received as a Xmas present from the boss. A few days passed from receipt to opening, so I'll take that under consideration. Pour was brown with honey color around the edges. Rich sweet bread aroma. The flavor was really bready with a lot of sweet malty goodness. Not overly sweet, though, with a just enough of a touch of bitterness to make this drinkable. A little flat in the mouthfeel, probably because my cold made me unable to drink this as fresh as I would have liked. 3 pints went down on Christmas eve to kill the pain of my experience of wrapping presents...and had me feeling very jolly! Ho ho ho!
