Came in a cardboard scotch tube and in a 660ml bottle. Celebrating already 20 years of Brasseurs RJ... congrats ! Cellared this one, and now it is time. Pours a hazy caramel red-orange colour with a small off-white head that dissipate fairly quickly and not much is left. Nice slow carbonation though. Fruity scent with some raisins, figs, grainy malts and notes of nuts. Thin watery body with a little stick and no alcohol felt at all. The taste is pretty quiet overall, with some mild touches of caramel malt, biscuit, roasted malt, hints of plum and coffee. A lighter-tasting Doppelbock that is not trying to shock the world and goes down easy.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep brown color lager with a huge foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of sweet caramel malt with not much else in term of identifiable characteristics. Taste is dominated by some sweet caramel malt with no banana ester that I usually expect from the style. Average body with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Better then I had expected but still below my expectation for the style
