Sampled on 4/6/2012. This strong lager pours a medium copper amber color from a 500ml bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet with some orange. A medium bodied strong lager. The malts are fruity and sweet, touch of orange and some honey, maybe some corn as well. The hops are herbal and earthy. Mild carbonation. A touch on the sweet side, but not as bad as the Werewolf 5.2% sweetness. For a higher alcohol Lager, (Malt Liquor) it’s not all that offensive, its not all that spectacular either, but it is drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Pours a clear amber with a short-lived head and no lacing. Some carbonation. Sweet caramel malts and apple juice in the aroma. Taste is initially sweet with the malts and faux apple juice then a slight funky vinegar acidity kicks in and although very slight, it still leaves a weird linger. Not much hops.

This poured a cloudy copper color with a fading soapy white head. The aroma contains some caramel and some cooked veggie presence as well. The flavor is a little odd contains some malt with a caramel presence but something is off in there. More of the cooked veggie thing I’m guessing. This is kind of like Yuengling on crack. None of the alcohol is really detectable. Overall I expected worse but still not that great.

The aroma is malty and bready as well as sweet with maybe some figs or spice, or even caramel or nutty overtones, coming through that I like and it is very aromatic. The appearance rich to a red copper in color and almost rustic with a medium-sized head on top that is an off-white in color and diminishes to a thin lacing that coats the glass well. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and smooth with very nice sweet malt complexity with not much of any hoppy profile with a palate that is rich and almost creamy and damn nice. The flavor is of sweetness, maltiness, freshly baked bread with maybe a bit of saltiness in the aftertaste with a finish that lingers and is very pleasant with some sweet spice on the very back end. Overall, what a beer this was and I did not expect much from this one but it ended up being a great example of the style and is very smooth and easy to drink even given the 8.2%ABV; awesome beer here for sure!

Aroma is sharp and malty with an undertone of apple cider. Color is a clear light mahogany, and it pours with a somewhat thick head that sticks around. Flavor is rather sweet but not cloying and has an undertone of caramel and a hint of apple. Texture is smooth and crisp, and aftertaste has both cider-like sweetness and hoppy bitterness in it.
