In 1986 Harpoon co-founders Rich Doyle and Dan Kenary began brewing Harpoon in Boston to share with others the joy of making—and drinking—great beer. In 2000, we added a second brewery in Windsor, Vermont to keep up with the demand. As a regional craft brewer, we gained interest and respect for cider, a drink with strong roots and history in New England. Harpoon’s cider is our contribution to the long heritage of cider made with fresh juice from locally grown apples. Harpoon Cider is made from a blend of locally grown apples including the New England favorite, McIntosh. By fermenting this blend of varieties with our own yeast we are able to produce an aroma that has a clean, fruity character. This crisp, refreshing cider has just the right balance of ripe apple sweetness and tartness from the fruit’s natural acidity. The color of this smooth tasting cider is very light as a result of using only freshly pressed apples. Without the addition of preservatives, artificial colors, or sweeteners we have created a cider that is fresh, pure, and delicious. Enjoy!

New to the cider world; sampled on tap at the brewery. Pleasant, mild apple aroma with a bit of tartness. Drying finish. Combined 50/50 with their pumpkin beer makes it much better.

Poured a pale yellow with visible carbonation. The aroma was of apple but quite mild. The flavor was mild with a dry bitterness coming through. Good mouthfeel made it most refreshing. It reminded me of some of the dry ciders I had tried in Britain. This would pair well with turkey or pork. In fact any heavy meal where beer may prove too filling.

First of all I bought this one for my wife and I admit I only had a few sips of it. That was enough though. This pours very pale in color in comparison to other ciders I've had/seen with a lot of carbonated bubbles surfacing. No head at all. Looks like someone mixed water and apple juice. Some tart apple flavor, slightly dry, but not nearly sharp enough flavors and this is quite watery and thin. Heck, my wife thought it was bland as well. She doesn't want it again and I'm not a big Cider fan so no need for me to buy it again.

Had on draft tonight at Taco Mac. Aroma is of tartness and champagne with some crisp apple coming through. Appearance is a very light yellow in color when held to the light with a fuzzy and carbonated head on top that diminishes quickly. Mouthfeel is very dry and drier than many ciders I have had. Flavor is of fermented apples and tartness with sweetness. Overall, not a bad cider and on par with Strongbow in my opinion...Recommended.
