Bottled@Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Hazy amber colour, not much head. Aroma is hops, some mild fruits and earth. Mild alcoholic sweetness. Flavour is hops, sweet fruits and some mild notes of grass. A pleasantly balanced beer, which was a quite spot on DIPA.

Port beer, i prefer Starboard beer .. . Pours a gold, medium lacing.. . tree truck juice, and aggressive flowers .. . i think this was my first port beer, showed promise, then tomme got aids ... . My apartment is infested with koala bears. Its the cutest infestation ever. Much better than cockroaches. I turn the lights on and the koalas scatter. I'm like, come back! I want to hold one of you, and feed you a leaf.

Pours out in a hazy copper colour with a low bubbly off-white head. Quite brutal hop aroma of oine-needles and grapefruit with hints of pine.apples and honey. Full-bodied with notes of pine, grapefruit, lemon-zest and peppery aöcohol with minor sugary undertones of honey candies. Long aromatic and bitter finish of pine.needles, wet grass and grapefruit. A hop juice drink, I’ll have another.

Bottle courtesy of Bu11zeye: Poured a deep slightly hazy orangey color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of strong bitter hops with some distinctive grassy notes. Taste is also dominated by some strong grassy and bitter hops with some notes of citrus thought but as much as expected. There is definitely a malt base but it is hard to say what it taste like with the amount of hops in here. I know that it was the goal to produce a gigantic hoppy beer but still too bitter and one-dimensional for my taste buds.

Bottle from the linkery and on tap at O’brien’s. Pours with an amber body topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing. It’s sweet, biscuity and malty with a grapefruity hop not and a little pine. Full bodied, oily, resiny and hot. This beer is over the top in my opinion.

Wow, this beer is noticeably viscous and thick as I pour it into my 25cl tulip glass. It pours with a frothy, initially three-finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is a clear amber color that shows an almost clear, pale copper color when held up to the light. The aroma is sticky with hop notes though there is a fair amount of biscuit-like malt if you start digging around for it. Aromas of tangelos, bergamot, lychee and sweetened grapefruit are noticeable up front, but then a persistent herbal note comes into play that adds notes of pine and some light hemp notes. The malt in the finish provides aromas of crushed soda crackers, crushed pale malt and crushed bread crust. While I certainly can't find a fault with the aroma, I do like hops, it just doesn't seem to sing to me.

Thick and sweet up front, a quick, sharp, biting hop character quickly tames the sweetness and seems to burnt into the palate as an astringent bitterness just lingers on long after the beer has left my mouth. Flavors of bergamot, lychee, and super ripe tangelo juice are accentuated by the up front sweetness. The middle picks up an herbal sense / flavor to it that also has just a hint of hemp as well as a pine sap note. The body of this is perhaps a bit heavier than I would prefer in a Double IPA, but not quite as thick as a Barley Wine should be; this puts this about right for a Strong Ale, which since this is not stylistically called out, sounds good to me. Viscous, with a certain richness and a palate coating quality to it that is just cut by the sharp, herbal, astringent hop notes. The finish can get a little hot at times as the alcohol can definitely be noticeable.

This is one of those brews that is likely too hoppy, even for this hop head; it is just a bit too unbalanced, despite the thick, chewy malt character. This drinks like a big beer; thick enough, with noticeable alcohol and with a massive, biting hop character. Not as unbalanced as I had heard, perhaps it has mellowed some, but still does not have the balance that is even necessary in the hoppiest of beers; I wouldn't be surprised if this peaks within the next three months though.

Tasted at the May Northern California Beer Tasting. This imperial IPA pours a deep orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is piney, grapefruity and citrusy. A medium bodied 2X IPA. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and piney. Yup it’s a SD hop bomb, but it seems a little understated. Lively carbonation. Decent balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.

Suprised to find this one at our tasting. Heck, I didn't even know it existed. So going into it I had no preconceived ideas on it, and in the end it wound up being a slightly above average IIPA. Kinda a let down actually for an anniversary beer. The beer poured out hazy orange/amber color with a creamy tan head. Aroma was very dank, with some mj character, pine and citrus. Some weak caramel in there somewhere too with all those hops. Flavors seemed just a bit oxidized, but there was some bite to the hop attack. Citrusy grapefruit hops play a strong role in this one, very resinous with some pine character too. Safe to say this is good and was probably incredible fresh off the tap. Still a nice beer.
