Our new Island Summer Ale is a light refreshing beer created with our warm weather in mind. It is the perfect summer ale to enjoy at the beach or while sailing the Caribbean seas. Originally brewed at The Tap Room on St. John. Currently available only in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

A bright coppery colored beer with a moderate sized foamy textured, white head. Not much hang time. And no lacing to speak of. The profile is buttery, grassy. Let it warm and the medium bodied smooth beer makes for a good drink.

I was impressed to find such a strong showing for a micro-brewed pale ale all the way on the Islands. The flavor is well balanced and refreshing, fruity and yeasty with medium mouthfeel. Any lighter and it wouldn't be a micro, any heavier and you wouldn't want to drink in on the Islands. For any New Glarus fans, it's comparable to a Spotted Cow. An excellent summer ale!

A beer of the month club entry for July/August 2010. Pours a slightly amber, clear with clean white head. More lager like than ale. Has a mild flavor, very mild aroma, mild bitterness. Refreshing for a hot summer day, but not worth the swim all the way to the Virgin Islands!

Bottle: Poured a bright golden color ale with a large foamy white head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light sweet malt with some bland cereal. Taste is not overly complex with some lightly sweet malt with a somewhat refreshing taste of cereal and a light dry hops at the end. Body is fuller then average with OK carbonation. Not bad but nothing too write home either.

Nice beer to drink while sitting by the pool on a hot California late-August Saturday afternoon. It puts out the fire, but doesn't bring much in flavor or aroma. The beer pours a clear light amber, dark yellow color with a bright 1" head. The slightly fruity aroma give way to a sweet malt angle and some wet grains. Flavor of light apple and corn/cereal round this out. Drinkable.

Drank this one at the Thirsty Buzzard in St Thomas, USVI. First thing I noticed from the label is that this beer is actually brewed by Shipyard Brewing in Portland, Maine. Only the bottling is done locally. No indication as to the ABV appears on the label. Aroma was a little bit grassy, and the taste was about average for an American Wheat. Mouthfeel was neither thin nor watery, and the finish was slightly hopped.
