Rerate 7/17/03: I don't know what the hell I got on tap the first time around, but this doesn't is not what I had last year. The odd lemony flavor is gone, the traditional pilsner hop aroma has regained its assertiveness and the chracteristic sandy malt character of the style is strong in the body. This is a damn tasty pilsner. I'd put it up there with some of the better ones like Victory's Prima Pils. It improves on Tupper's Hop Pocket Pils by making the hoppy pils without going overboard into unbalanced bitter harshness. It does seem to like the sveltness of some of the more traditional examples, but this is not a bad beer by any stretch.

8/25/02: Clear pale gold, perhaps a slight bit redder than most pilsners. Nice sized fluffy wet head. Saaz hops aren't really as assertive as in most pilsners. Odd lemony flavor. Not very dry. Mouthfeel is slightly slick.

Yellow appearance like a pilsner, but not at all what I expected...tasted much more like a pale ale...citrusy and hoppy. A unique beer and a pleasant suprise!

This is a pilsner? Yellow appearance with a nice head. Flavor is citrus with a hop bitterness. Very aggresive for the style, but that's a good thing. Similar to an APA and much more ass kicking power than its wimpy pilsner cousins. POW!
