Labatt Bleue Dry is only the second addition to the Bleue family and is brewed with the same care and attention to detail as Labatt Bleue. Labatt Bleue Dry is mashed longer than regular beers to leave less carbohydrate (sugar) in the finished product and uses noble German aroma hops brewed with a blend of the finest quality Canadian barley malts. The result is a crisp, clean flavoured lager with no aftertaste and an enhanced noble hop character in flavour and aroma. Labatt Bleue Dry is available in cases of 6, 12 and 24-bottles and cans in Québec, New Brunswick, Manitoba and in the Ottawa region.

The last time I had a 10% malt liquor in a 40oz. bottle, I almost puked. Actually, what saved me... was my first drainpour. But tonight, I feel like taking on this one. Yukk, just the fumes makes me gargle, with it's chemical stink. Pours a darker golden lager colour with lots of carbonation. Gotta hurry up with this review, as the drunkeness is taking over. Decent white head with sticky lacing, and a creamy thin layer tops the brew. No burn in the mouthfeel, but alcohol is present in the taste. Not really a dry beer, but aftertaste does disappear quite fast. As fast as this is getting me drunk. Sweet, sweet malt, kind of syrupy. Will not be drinking any beer after this one... for the rest of the night.

This a fine choice for a weekend trip to Montreal as a little pregame before hitting the numerous and expensive bars. Color is on the darker side of lagers, with hints of red. Aroma was neutral, neither offensive nor pleasant but definitely malt. Taste came off very sweet, you get a clear feel of the malt grains in this, and the ethanol hits at the aftertaste. But what can be expected for a malt liquor 1/4 the strength of whiskey? Overall, a little over 5 bucks CA for about 7 regular beers worth of alcohol is a decent buy in the city. Very drinkable, for Canadian swill.
