Looks like a glass of brandy with a bit of a brighter, orange hue. Very little head to speak of - not unexpected. Strong alcohol notes in the nose with hints of fruit (apricot). Heavy, sticky mouthfeel that is common on beers of this strength (16% ABV). Flavor is very sweet - the candy/sugary aspect present in Belgian strong ales is very much in the forefront of this one. Balanced out a bit by some flowery hops. Alcohol burn comes in the finish and persists to dominate the aftertaste. Not a particular favorite of mine, but is well made and true to style.

Pours with an amber body with no head or lacing. It’s sweet, a little to sweet actually, and malty with a yeasty undertone as well as some banana notes. Medium to full bodied, smooth and slightly warming.

Bottle courtesy of iconoklaztor: Poured a deep copper color ale with a small foamy head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma of sweet malt is totally dominating. Taste is also dominated by sweet malt with some candi sugar notes. I couldn’t detect any fruity ester or dry fruits elements or even some toffee notes. The whole taste spectrum is dominated by sweet malt. Medium body with low carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I thought this was really one-dimensional and would have expected some complexity- I don’t get why this is arte so high.
