Ølfabrikken Gammel Ekstra Porter (Old Extra Porter) is an attempt to recreate a porter as it used to taste in its heyday. This beer starts with a pitch black wort which is boiled for 14 hours. This is necessary to obtain the slightly acidic flavor of burned sugar characteristic for the way these beers were produced. Aged 6 months before release. Only 360 bottles released. Of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers

Dark brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted and sweetish malts. Flavour is strong roast, alcohol and some slight acidic fruityness. Dry fruits in aftertasted. A rather twisted Porter, but I still like it.

Thanks to sk8viking for this excellent beer. Roasty, sweet, complex, wow. What a great porter. If they only made a few hundred bottles, they need to make more

Black with a brown frothy head. Potent aroma of black coffee, dark chocolate, black currant, salt, alcohol, earth and wood. Nice! Thick flavour of black coffee, cream, black currant, pepper and toffee. Full creamy mouthfeel with a low carbonation. Long coffee and chocoaltely medium bitter aftertaste. Hints of nuts, mild hops, gooseberries and black currant. This is great stuff!
