Semi occluded reddish-brown colored ale. Small off white frothy head. Not much hang time. Settles into a moderate lacing. Sweet, malty, bready nose. Light bodied and smooth body. Sweet malt dominates the taste buds. But there is some citrusy hops come through. Not an intense beer, but highly drinkable. Not an outstanding representation of the genre, but not all that bad either.

When I first tried this beer, my first thoughts were of Rickard's Red, the Canadian Amber beer. This pours a clear amber colour with a nice tan head. The aroma was kind of skunky, not much more than heavy sticky malt. The flavour on the other hand was much better than the aroma with a sweet malty taste, and a nice citrusy hoppy bitterness that gave it a great finish.

malty nose reminiscent of a tahoe red, nice body with the same predominantly malty flavor. that's not to say there's not some nice hops in here to, but they are overpowered a bit. they come out a little as it warms. not my favorite amber, but not too far behind either. 8/09-great session beer...hitting the spot as i write this.

Pours a hazy copper-amber color with a nice off-white head with some staying power and decent amounts of lacing. Aroma is mostly fruity with traces of hops and malts. Malty taste with some brown sugar and spices with fruity hops. Mild bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel seemed a little thin or perhaps a touch unbalanced. Nothing special but a pretty good session beer.

A Bit of skunk on the nose and I know it was fresh. Great Burnt red color with some white head that quickly fades. Great mouthfeel not dry or to thick. Flavor is classic amber style with a very small amout of bittering at the end. Great session beer!

this beer pours a clear amber colour with a medium sized tan head. Aroma is slightly hopped with roasted malts and nutmeg. Mouthfeel is mild, creamy with dark cherry and ripe apple flavor. Noticeable hop character but well balanced with a long smooth finish.

Bottle: Poured a deep slightly hazy copper color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with some notes of light dry hops. Taste is also dominated by some nice caramel malt notes with a light hoppy touch at the end. Medium body with good carbonation. I didn’t taste anything incredibly complex here but a very well done session ale.

Pours a dark brown/red with medium-thin tan head and superb lacing. Aroma is hoppy, mangoes, pineapple/citrus, and some spice/peppers. The mouthfeel is smooth, strong, although a bit thin. The flavor is of hops, citrus, and spice. Good, very good.

I'm rating this one more towards the actual beer itself and not necessarily per the relative style. Hoppy amber ale which seems to be pushing the limits toward an APA. Avery can really impress at times but can also let you down, this offering is very nice. Citrusy hop nose overpowers the sweet malt. Nice orange-red color with a medium soapy head and lots of thick lacing. Mouthfeel is full at first but the finish is slightly empty, rather awkward. Flavor has noticeably more malt content than the aroma, nice lightly sweetened malt. The hops add a nice citrus flavor and also provide a great complimentary bitterness. I agree that this would make for a nice session beer, goes down nice and easy.

Amber colour, mediumsized creamy beige head. Aroma is hops, caramel and fruits. Flavour is enormously hoppy and grassy with some slight caramel hints. Aftertaste is hayish and grassy hops.
