After months of experimentation, energy and obsession, Deschutes Brewery’s brewers have triumphed once again with their newest creation - Inversion IPA. Inversion’s trio of American hops delivers an over-the-top nose with hints of orange and grapefruit. Inversion is then dry-hopped for seven days resulting in an added hoppy kick. To balance the hop character of Inversion, Deschutes’ brewers used crystal and caraston malts that weave throughout the beer providing soft, complex caramel flavors. Inversion IPA is smooth and delicious. Just like clear days up on the mountain, Inversion IPA will deliver a path to higher ground. Inversion will be available year-round starting in early April on draft and in 6-packs. Inversion IPA is a phenomenal NW-style IPA, beckoning all beer drinkers and enticing IPA lovers to invert their world and find clarity above the routine of the everyday. Alc. By Vol. 6.8% IBUs 75

355 ml bottle, from Fakta Hirtshals. BB date was 30.05.2014. ABV is 6.8%. Hazy amber colour, large head, slightly off-white. Strong and typical American IPA aroma of caramelized orange marmalade, also notes of pine. Soft mouthfeel. Very hoppy flavour, also decent malts, but not too sweet. Very bitter finish, piney and resinous notes. Good stuff.

A decent , tight top IPA.Very clear red in color. Kind of thin tasting, does have some good flavor to it. Alcohol is hidden well. I could drink a couple of these.

Sampled at the Brew's Best Beer Fest on my trip to Vegas, back in 2011. Caramel amber colour with a mild beige creamy head. A nice blend of caramel and roasted malt aromas with some hop in the background. The hop is more apparent in the taste with the malt much milder. Dry mouthfeel. An overall darker tasting IPA.

On tap @ Deschutes, Portland. Browny amber pour, tight creamy head, some lacing. HUGE grapefruit/blood orange/citrus nose, and flavor, with a near-resin type mouthfeel, big on grapefruit, near-piney linger. Yes. Very very good on tap.

Thanks to Chris for this bottle. He sent it a month ago and I'm just getting around to it. Bottle pour is a beautiful orange with a thin white head and nice lacing. Pine on the nose and a nice creamy and acidic mouthfeel. Really nice drinking IPA with notes of pine, grapefruit, and orange peel. Would keep this in the fridge reguarly if I lived on the west coast. Real nice IPA.

Aroma is sickly sweet. Pours a darker amber with anice fluffy head thats lasts a bit. Taste is lighter than a normal IPA. A tad dry and a tad slimy. Not half bad once you get into it.

I can't even explain how many times I've had this beer. At this point, the Inversion is my go-to, now that I'm living in Portland. My wife's uncle loves this brew, so it's always in the fridge. Everything about it is perfecion for IPA standards. Clear copper, well carbonated. Fresh tropical fruit. Grapefruit and piney notes. Hops are dank-ass, always. Can never get enough of this brew.

A very good IPA, but I think my wife described it best, "tastes like a Torpedo"... and I think that's it. It is a very good IPA, but without any standout qualities. Having said that, it does have a ver well-balanced combination of all the requisite characteristics of a good IPA. I could drink it any time I wanted an IPA - and with the warm temps right now is almost every day. Thanks for sharing slowrunner77.

A very nice IPA. Pours amber with a big foamy head. Mouthfeel is thick and the taste is hoppy. Some grain. A little bit soapy. A little but Syrupy but good.

gawd damn nirvana beer right from the tap. OMG I could have sat there with my nose in the glass and not even drank it it smelled so good. I made that pint last a full hour with my niece and nephew arguing the whole time and as long as I could take even a sip every 5-10 minutes I was in heaven. This is on my wish list permanently because I live outside the range of getting it and only get it when I go to visit my brother in portland.
