Our wee heavy incorporated 20 pounds of Mexican panela sugar and 10 pounds of raisins in the nearly three hour boil. We fermented the wort with a blended strain of hi-grav British and American ale yeasts. The result was an extremely malty beer with a rich and rummy caramel complexity (8.5% abv). We dubbed this brew 'Wee Whale'.

I've heard this place has gone out of business, that's sad. I had this beer a while back, evcen spilled a bit on my notepad. A decent Wee Heavy in my opinion. Very malty, a good touch of caramel and molasses, and beautiful to look at with it's deep reddish-brown hues.

Pours with deep red-brown body topped by a thick body with lots of lacing. It’s sweet, malty and flowery with a slight candy sugar note. Medium to full bodied and smooth.

Poured a dark, hazy, mahogany color with a thin, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, nuts, roasted malts, with smoke, chocolate, and light alcohol as well. Taste of sweet chocolate, caramel, nuts, with smoke and alcohol as well. Really nice wee heavy here.

I had Heavyweight Wee Whale at the Split Thy Skull event at Sugar Moms in Philly. This one time special release poured a dark amber/reddish colored body with a small head. The taste is extremely malty with some notes of caramel, roasted malts, and a slightly smokiness. I enjoyed this scottish ale.
