Taps hazy golden-amber with a minimal eggshell head. Aroma offers a strong note of resiny hops, more IPA than "regular" pale ale, supported by orange and malty notes. Flavor continues the IPA-like hoppy note but ramps up the malt, while a bit of pear joins the orange in the fruit component. Mouthfeel features fairly firm body and strong, lively fizz. X marks the spot to slake your thirst.

Pours a crystal clear medium orange with a small fluffy light tan head with good retention. The aroma is dark orange peel, some pine and carmel malt. The taste is hoppy orange and mild malts. The mouthfeel was good carbonation, and light bodied with a slightly bitter finish.

Celebrating my 1700th review with my first AleSmith brew. Pours a golden colour with a foamy white head, good retention and loads of soapy lace. Decent hop nose with the grapefruit notes and sweet malts. Fruity taste that is milder than the smell, all mixed with the grain. Half wet and refreshing, half dry and lightly bitter finish. A very nice Extra Pale Ale and a nice introduction to this brewery (which I have read so much about).

Opens with an exuberant soft long lasting head, slightly haze pale bright golden color. Flavor is moderately bitter with floral notes, not very sweet. All in all a quality beverage.

Had next to the Alesmith IPA which was probably to the detriment of the X, it was seemingly a lighter version of the IPA. Similar pale cloudy appearance, long lasting head, and a milder hop aroma. Bitterness was definitely lower as well, but this was a very easy drinking beer and one I'd look forward to again.

AleSmith’s pale is some brewrey’s IPA. Just a bounty of goodness with this beer. The beer pours out a clear solid gold color with a hefty 2" thick white head that left behind some intricate lace work. Aroma is decidedly citrusy, with a bit of pine and bready malts showing up. Flavor is a 2-step of citrus and pine with some light toast and caramel wiggling around. Soooo drinkable. I knocked off the bomber in no-time. Now I’d like another, but the nearest bottle is about 400 miles away.

Bottled (thanks stoutlover72!). Amber colour, huge white head. Aroma is fruits, some grassyness and mild toffeeishness. Flavour is some slight fruity notes with toffee and some slight earthyness also. Fruity and yeasty aftertaste.

another brew, another winner from Alesmith. Bright floral hops on the nose and a nice balance between bitter hops and floral (and a slightly sweet fruity malt) in the flavor. not sure what i think of bottle conditioning a pale, though. the carbonation was a little high and tight but it went down smooth. classsic PA look, but for the yeast on the bottom. nice finish. quite good, not quite the best among the best pales...don't worry Alpha King or Hop Trip...

From Hi-Time Wine Cellars. This looked a lot lighter than I was expecting, pouring a light golden color. A moderate sized head settles to a thin layer with some spotty lacing. The aroma is mostly floral hops with some citrus. The flavor is nicely hopped, crisp bitter hops, citrus and pine notes with doughy malts. Very easy drinking without sacraficing flavor. Good beer.

Aroma of pine with strong floral notes, pear, and pineapple as well. It pours a cloudy mid yellow body with a mid sized cap that remained throughout drinking, there were a few floaters present. Mouthfeel was a little watery but not bad, flavor of grapefriut and a little malt, slight bitterness in the finish. Overall a pretty good APA.
