Dean Browne stopped by and brought some brown and peated malts with him to make his dark mild. Lighter in gravity than the first but dark and roasty and more complex than the Ordinary. BTW, Dean also makes great wine. 3.1% ABV Brewed: July 8 Racked: July 22

08.06.05 Hand pump at Heavyweight open house. My first sampling of one of Tom’s mild series. Pale and rather thin looking brown pour with lingering tan foam. Aroma and flavors are subtle, but it has definite notes of roasted and peaty malt, toasted nuts, bakers cocoa, and an ever so slight acid bite. Refreshing quaff, light and yet satisfying. Better than I expected.

Draft... Poured an amber color with a medium sized, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of nuts, caramel malts, and some roastiness as well. Taste of caramel malts, nuts, roast, plums, and chocolate, with low bitterness in the finish.
