An American Pale Ale. For batch number 1500, Josh & Brian decided to brew a big hoppy beer, yet make it quaffable by keeping the alcohol level down. Turns out everyone liked it so much, that it is now brewed year-round. Loads of Simcoe and Amarillo hops are blended in the fermenter, just after fermentation has finished, to impart a huge aroma of pine and citrus. pours a good color with a nice medium orange hue with a light effervescence and a tiny bit of haze. There's a thin layer of ivory foam as well. The aroma has a nice, standard pale ale aroma with hops and some citrusy character. A little light in intensity, but even with that it's a little rough around the edges. The taste is much less raspy than the aroma, and the bitterness is a little rough at the end, but is at a low level so it works. Moderate hop character; orangey and grape fruity. It's not a sweet pale ale, more of a hoppy one. The mouth feel is medium body with a decent carbonation yielding a nice creaminess.

Nice use of hops here. I'd buy this 6-pack more often if they dated, but you can't trust the age of brews where this is available. Too bad - it's a nicely floral and citrusy hop driven pale ale. Well above average for the style when anywhere near fresh.

Enjoyed this many times while visiting the brewery. Fantastic aroma of mats, hops, citrus and floral characters come thru easily. An incredible balance of hops and malt make this too damned easy to drink. It's like it's on steriods or something because it smells and tastes like an IPA. It takes some serious talent to make this and keep the ABV this low. This is truly a great beer from a talented brewer.

Tasted on tap at the brewery. A medium orange gold colored pale ale. Small head with excellent lacing. Aroma is malty, citrusy and floral hops. A medium bodied pale ale. Malts are fruity, caramel, orange and pineapple. Hops are rather aggressive. Lots of grapefruit, citrusy and pine. Nice balance. It has the fruitiness of a Pale Ale with the hoppiness of a West Coast IPA. Would make a great session beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours with an amber body topped by a thick head with a good amount of lacing. A little weak, but slightly sweet and a touch fruity with a very slight hoppiness and some grainy malt notes. Meidum bodied and smooth.
