The first beer of the Brewmaster's Reserve line, this beer was brewed from a completely different set of malts than our other two weissebeers. Weyermann Pilsner and Munich malts from Germany were blended with malted wheat to create a beer with a slightly sweet, almost candied center, backed up by toffee and bread. The aroma is full of banana with a touch of cloves and malt. Technically, this beer is a "weissedoppelbock"; large amounts of malt were used, bringing its strength up to 8.2% by volume. After a warm fermentation, the beer was cooled and held in conditioning for five weeks to round it out to a fine smoothness.

This really isn’t a bad weissebock. It’s a hazy dark copper with a good head. The aroma has a nice banana and clove, but the alcohol is a little hot. You get a distinct alcohol burn in the end that’s a little unpleasant. Really detracts from the experience.

They had some trouble with the tap so was a little warm, pour was a cloudy brown color with small head little lacing. Smell of banana and caramel. Had a citrus and carmael taste to it. Had a nice creamy mouthfeel. Was a good beer.

Samp;ed this at MacGregors in Canandaigua, NY Poured a hazy orange brown with small head. Quite a bit of alcohol for a wheat beer malty nose with hint of sugar and citrus. It was OK but a little sweet for me.

Poured a hazy, orange, brown color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, banana, toffee, and yeast. Tast orange, citrus, more toffee and caramel, creamy mouthfeel, alcohol is well masked.
