poured a deep dark brownish color with a very small tanish head. The aroma was sweet malt, chocolate and coffee. The taste followed the aroma but with more coffee and some cinnamon. The mouthfeel was heavy bodied and lightly carbonated.

I'd call this more like a brown ale vs. English strong. Decent malty flavor. Semi-creamy texture. Just a little above average.... kind of like their other beers that I sampled. Worth the buck on clearance, but not really something that I'd seek out.

Pours a dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is very malty with hints of chocolate and caramel. Taste is malty sweet although there is some bitterness that shows thru. Just an ok winter beer--nothing special here.

This winter ale poured a deep brown body that turned amber in the light. Decent carbonation with a small head that disappeared rapidly. The aroma was unusual, kinda like burnt barley. Thankfully the taste was better than the smell with caramel malts, some coffee notes and even some chocolate hints. Overall this was more like a porter than an ESA but it was fairly decent.

Tastes and looks just like an even darker Summit EPA. Strong taste and a very smooth texture. Tastes better on tap. This will keep you warm in the winter! Highly Recommended!

Poured a dark brown color with a beige head. Had aromas of caramel and malt. Not much hops, but a noticeable caramel taste. English ale with a Belgian feel.

On draft at Durty Nellie's. Pour was dark brown with some ruby hues. The aroma was sweet fruity candy (it was actually reminiscient of something from child hood, but I can't remember which specific candy), with chocolate mostly supporting it underneath. The flavor was also sweet and fruity, some cherries perhaps, chocolate, nuts, even faint coffee grounds in the finish. Mouthfeel was full and a little on the sticky side. Not bad, but nothing to write home about, a bit too cloying.

Courtesy of Phishpond and BeerHunter. Pours a nice brown with a nice creamy head with plenty of lacing. Good carbonation. Aroma is of sweet malts - toasted - and rich spices - cinnamon mostly - with a slight rich coffee too. Taste is very rich and smooth with a nice roasted maltiness and spiced coffee finish. A great cold weather brew.

I really enjoyed this one! Poured a deep Dark brown, with a thick frothy head, and excellent lacing. Very hardy and thick,in my opinion almost a stout.Very drinkable! a second pint is a must.Definetly worth investing in a 12 pack.
