What a nice Oktoberfest this is! Heavy on the toasty malt aroma and flavors with a bit of grassy hops in the background. Very well put together, and fitting the style while being a little more exciting than the norm.

Hands down this is the finest American Oktoberfest I have tried. An amber pour with a one inch tan head that just sits there for a while. Nuts, apricots, and grass permeate the air while the toffee like flavour helps it go down easily. Have not seen it in a few years, but this was my go to Marzen 4-5 years ago.

nice red-orange color (not to be confused with orange-red which is also a crayola color). some citrus and carmel and some malt. like a german pilsener with more character.

Thanks to eagle for this one. Poured a nice copper color head was okay. Aroma was caramel malts and slight hops. Flave was nutty and spices. Mouthfeel was a little thin but still a good beer.

This Marzen pours a deep amber color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel malts, a little floral and a touch buttery. A medium bodied Marzen. Malts are caramel and toffee. Hops are spicy and slightly earthy. Nice carbonation. Starts way sweet and finishes with a crisp dry earthy finish. Interesting beer, it has lots of flavors for an Octoberfest/Marzen, and perhaps a touch sweet at the finish, but a very drinkable beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and dr. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Special thanks to eaglefan538 for this one. I feel kind of funny rating an Oktoberfest Lager this high, but this was really darned good. Poured with huge head and lacing that clung to the glass throughout (I coulda even given this a 10 really). Aroma and flavor was sweet caramel malt with butter biscuit flavoring. Just the right amount of bitterness and carbonation. For the style, it can't get much better.

Poured a deep clear copper color with a respectable head, but weak lacing. The aroma was crisp: caramel malts and a fresh outdoorsy (don't ask me what that is) hops. The flavor was like a weak brown ale (some nuts, light roastedness), spiced with oktober spices (slight bubblegum). A little dry relative to others in its style, but really drinkable. Mouthfeel was somewhat dry and significantly carbonated. Really, a quite nice beer, balanced (bitter hops assertive, yet not overdone for a style that doesn't normally feature hops), and enjoyable. A nice treat from the bro-in-law from CT.

This is my first Thomas Hooker beer and my first beer from the new Taco Mac in my hometown. The aroma is malty and sweet with hints of bread crumbs and maybe has figs. The appearance is a nice, red amber with hues of burgundy with a very nice head that is full and diminishes slightly and is bubbly and off-white in color. The mouthfeel is nice and of complex malt with very nice balance with a pallet that is wet and coats very well and is round. The flavor is of sweet malt and maybe caramel with some dark raisin notes with an aftertaste that is malty and smooth and bready with a nice finish that is wet-like and very good and is very smooth and refreshing. Overall, this is a nice oktoberfest beer with a nice malty backbone balanced well with some bitter, tasty stuff here.

An orange appearance with a light to moderate white head. The aroma is malty with a hint of citrus mainly oranges. The flavor contains a hint of citrus and caramel. The aftertaste is somewhat dry with a little bit of sweetness. Good one for this pretty unimpressive style.

Spectacular, this could be the best Octoberfest to be spotted in the States. Pours a clear copper color with a small tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty, nutty, a bit toasty, and overall very pleasing. Mouthfeel is wonderfully smooth. Flavor starts off with a great smooth sweetness of caramel, then turns a bit nutty, with slight roasty and bitter hints in the finish. A complex marzen, it's no wonder it won GABF silver 2002.
