Clear pale yellow with small white foam ring. Aroma is earthy. Taste malty, earthy again. Not the best beer. Aftertaste little bitter. (Dubrovnik 201305)

500 ml capped bottle, as a 5.0 % ABV and a 11.0 % OG. Poured a clear golden-orange coloured Pilsener with a one finger slightly beige dense and creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is moderate sweety malts and faint grassy hops. The flavour is mild sweety malts and a mild hoppy bitterness. The mouthfeel is round, thin, light sticky and the texture is watery. This light bodied Pilsener has a dry light bitter finish. This easy drinkable and quite enjoyable brew is , for me, a pretty unexpected pleasant surprise.

Enjoyed this beer while on deployment in Zagreb for 6 months. I'm not sure how the imported version tastes but the domestic product in Zagreb is memorable. Crisp taste with great balance of malt and hops. A great pils.

There i was finding myself in a smaller scale LCBO store at Islington & Queensway in the South Etobicoke part of Toronto. Usually these smaller liquor stores, while selling a good, not great amount of wines and spirits, are usually not very good in the beer selection. For some reason, this one was different. Sure, this one was top heavy in the Eastern European selections, which this is obviously, yet at the same time is not one of those E.E. beers that most of these liquor stores normally carry. Certainly one I had never seen before. Now, even though when I first started on my beer exploration journey some time ago I was always willing to try something new, for the longest time I have been rather shy about trying anything from this region. For whatever reason. I am glad however that I over came that (un)reasoning and took a chance on this one cause this was one of the nicest Slavic beers I have ever tried. As per my usual, I tried two - one straight out of the can and one out of a glass. The Aroma, Taste, and Overall ratings are a direct middle between the two - one lower each for the can and one higher each out of the bottle. and speaking of the aroma, Wow! smells just like a Pilsner should very grassy and Saazzy(yes I just said Saazzy). I was actually surprised that the taste and overall drinkability of this came out a lot better from the glass then it did from the glass, seeing as upon first impressions one could mistake this for swill. The only drawbacks with this beer are the appearance, which I gave a 6 cause while it did have a decent colour, it had a very poor cap that did not last long at all, and the body which left a heavy feeling on the back of the mouth. Overall though a very good grassy Pilsner that this region of Europe really is known for.

Pours clear yellow/gold with a tiny white head that fades quickly, weak aroma. Bland lager beer flavour with a somewhat bitter finish. Medium mouth and carbonation. wouldn't buy again.

Nice golden color. not much foma. After the beer has been in the table for a minute, there's no foam at all. Aroma though is nicely bready and hoppy. Taste is quite lame, but aftertaste has quite rich bouquette of nuts and hops in it.

1/2 liter can: Pours a pale clear straw color in the glass. Modest rocky head reduced quickly, weal lacing, heavily carbonated. Aroma is light with stale grains and a light sweetness, and a weird wet metallic smell. Weak mouth feel...thinnish, weak malt spine...some crystal malts in front finishes fast and drying with a twang of hoppy bittering. Thin and sweet ( in a bad way like boiled peas type of sweet), weak beer with a weird character...too thin to be as obnoxious as some Russian and other East block cheepo lagers, but close....won't be back for a refill of this Slovene welfare lager..

The appearance was the best thing about this beer, being a very nice and proper gold colour, beneath a frothy white head of damned near four fingers in depth. Aroma was floral and grassy, with no real hint of hops. Taste was decidedly unbitter, and really just "okay". Mouth was too thin for my liking, and the finish was acceptable but not remarkable. A drinkable, eastern-Euro swill.

Back-to-back pils, one night after the other. Last night was the Tatra from Poland (which I did not like too much), and this one tonight. Lets see which is better. Pretty much same golden colour, but this one has a bigger head and leaves at least some lacing. Aromas of grainy malts with a touch of honey. Decent mouthfeel with a little stick to it. The taste has a nice mix of cereal malt, floral hop, apple fruitiness, and mild sweetness. Overall, a much better pils than the Tatra, but yet, not extremely recommended. Best before date written on the bottom of the can is: 26.03.2009

Marks are a bit low but it is what it is - a drinkable glass of swill.
Poured out a small, fizzy white cap that died as I blinked. Bright, clear yellow gold brew. Smells ok with some sweetness, mild apple, some grain. The taste is pretty much the same with some hops to be found and a hint of strong lager to it, not so good bitterness bite. A bit too thick feeling of a beer to really enjoy, ok carb, finishes a bit unpleasant. Drink cold!
