#4717 Innis & Gunn Limited Edition Rye Whiskey Cask from Edinburgh, United Kingdom, United Kingdom
Score: 3.8 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 8 | Overall 8 |
Scotch cardboard tube with 500ml bottle in it. Pours a slightly hazed copper colour with a caramel-amber highlight. The head is lightly warm beige coloured with decent stay and a creamy base around the glass. Some dark fruits come out in the aromas, but berry notes are what I felt at first. Hints of Scotches, banana, caramel, wood and vanilla. Same for taste, but pretty light in the mouthfeel with some hops balanced to give a little dry end. Not too rich, not too thick and not syrupy. So, a very drinkable Scotch Ale.

#4716 Bellwoods Roman Candle from Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.5 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 6 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Can that pours a hazy golden colour with an amber hue. Warm fizzy, bubbly head that dissipates rather quickly, not leaving much. Hoppy, herbal, spicy aromas over the citrus juices and milder zest. Juicy mouthfeel with a little dryness in the end. More of the citrus notes in the flavours, but more on the zest side, than juices. A good strong hazy IPA.

#4715 Muskoka Moonlight Kettle Series 2020: Munich To My Ears from Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.3 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 6 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 6 | Overall 7 |
Clean, golden with a light-amber. Frothy-bubbly off-white head, average retention and light lacing. Spicy hop aromas which are nice for the style, almost like rye is involved here with the grasses. The finish has a little dryness. Bitterness does build a bit at that point, lingering. Cereal grain flavours with the hops over it. Seems like the hoppiness is fighting the alcohol warmth, but not sure. Decent Festbier.

#4714 Bobcaygeon Northern Lights HIPA from Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.5 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Hazy golden-yellow colour with an amber hue. Foamy off-white cap, average retention and some light soapy lacing patches. Big orange aromas with some hints of honey. The taste has these oranges as well with juices and peel. Very slight pineapples in the background. Some decent hops in the finish giving some dryness, so not as juicy as expected. Still, a good hazy IPA.

#4713 Sons of Kent Brewing Spirit Wolf from Chatham, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.4 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 6 | Overall 7 |
Can that pours a slight hazed, light-golden colour with a creamy-frothy whitish cap, decent stay leaving some creamy lacing. Aromas are a nice mix of coffee and grassy hops. The coffee is milder in the taste, showing more the blonde ale aspect. So more malt with a light sweetness and even the hops are lower, just giving a mild dryness in the finish. An interesting coffee Blonde.

#4712 Tooth And Nail Black is Beautiful from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.4 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
355ml can from the brewery. Almost pitch black with a big creamy-bubbly warm mocha-coloured head, very nice retention and creamy lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee and light hops. Oily mouthfeel, but not too heavy overall. A little warming in the mouth, but goes down nicely all-around. Flavours of mild roasted malts and hops adding a little grassiness in the finish. Nothing too funky, but should be better to enjoy this winter. Keeping a few for this.

#4711 Sawdust City Everyday Magic from Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.7 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 8 | Overall 7 |
Pours a hazy light yellow-amber colour with big frothy, creamy white cap, long lasting with some nice creamy lacing. Juicy, citrusy aromas with some mild oat sweetness giving all-around good fruitiness and mild grassiness. The taste is fruity, lightly juicy with some decent yeast that seems to be the sweetness I thought was oats, but no oats in here. So, soft, easy-drinking hazy IPA.

#4710 Big Rig Hazy Four-Four from Kanata, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.5 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Can that pours a hazy bright-yellow with foamy off-white head, decent stay and some light soapy patches. Grassy hop nose with some citrus lemon zest notes coming out eventually. Wet mouthfeel with a little dryness in the end. Flavours show a little more citrus over the grassy feel. Hints of cilantro. Quite a nice dry-hopped Session IPA.

#4709 Overflow Landlocked India Pale Ale from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.6 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Second Overflow of the night. Can that pours a very lightly hazed golden colour with a tad amber hue. The head is frothy, a little creamy with good retention, slightly warm off-white and leaving some nice creamy waves on the glass. Hoppy nose of grass and citrus over cereal grain and mild caramel malts. The mouthfeel is slick, lightly oily with a good dryness in the finish. The flavours are bitter with grassiness and citrus peel. Quite a decent normal IPA.

#4708 Overflow Roger That Extra Pale Ale from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.4 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 6 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 7 | Overall 8 |
Oh yes, I do like this light ale. Biscuit malt with Pilsner malt light spiciness. Yep, this is a taste I really can enjoy for this style of beer. Aromas of mild spicy notes over the cereal grains. Gets slightly hazy, pale yellow colour with a frothy white cap, average stay and a little lacing. Kind of a light Steam Whistle, but on the ale side of things. I like.
