#4552 Stalwart Down by the River from Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.7 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Can that pours a hazy, light golden colour with a frothy-bubbly off-white cap, very long lasting, leaving foamy patches. Was expecting sweet aromas as a wheat beer, but the hops in this one seem to balanced this out nicely. Not too hoppy in the taste though, but just enough to go down well. Wheat is mild, and hop finish is blended good with bitterness and dryness. Some nice citrus and grassy notes. This is nice.

#4551 Beyond The Pale Long Dark Night - A Darkness Story from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.9 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 8 | Overall 8 |
Can that pours a real dark brown colour with a little copper highlights. The head is warm mocha-coloured, frothy, with decent stay and some creamy lacing. Roasted malt aromas with hints of coffee and chocolate. The hops are present in the flavours, but milder than most of their beers, creating a nice dry finish that helps the drinkability. Roasted malt again, lighter coffee and a tad of molasses, dark fruits. A very nice take on the original The Darkness, which has the alcohol content, but easier to drink. This is quite good !

#4550 Kichesippi Stony Monday from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.4 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 7 | Overall 6 |
Can that pours a clean golden colour with nice carbonation creating a big frothy warm cap, very good retention and lots of foamy lace patches. Very sweet aromas of caramel malts with coffee notes - yes, coffee notes - not hops for an IPA. It's almost diacetyl, but it is luckily not. Some cereal hints do help. The taste shows the big caramel malts, but the hops do show up in the finish. Again, a blend of the coffee notes with much stronger grassiness. Some nice bitterness in the finish. Reminds me of an old school IPA, which I had not had in a while. Way before West Coast was a thing.

#4549 Bud Light Strawberry Lemonade from St. Louis, MO, United States
Score: 3 | Aroma 6 | Appearance 5 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 6 | Overall 7 |
473ml single can that pours a clean, light golden-yellow colour, a frothy white cap, decent stay leaving a little ring around the base. Strawberry essence fruitiness for the nose with hints of cherries and lemonade. Refreshing crisp mouthfeel with a tad tart. Fruity flavours with the strawberry-cherry taste and light lemonade. Does the job it should and not bad at 4% ABV, for this hot spring day.

#4548 Wayne Gretzky No. 99 Pale Ale from Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3 | Aroma 5 | Appearance 6 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 6 | Overall 6 |
473ml can that pours a clean golden colour with a frothy warm cap, good stay and some foamy lacing. Weird aromas from the hops, unbalanced with the malts. Outdated oranges with some vegetable notes, mild wet socks. The taste is a little better with normal maltiness, but the hops are bugging me a tad. It does get better as it goes, as you get use to it (except the smell). The mouthfeel is fine with some nice dryness in the finish. Still, not a Pale Ale I would go back to, as not the Greatest.

#4547 Lake of Bays Off The Grid Hazy Pale Ale from Baysville, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.5 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Can that pours a hazy, bright light-golden colour with a big frothy white cap, good stay and lots of foamy lacing. Aromas are mostly grassy hops with the fruitiness in the background. Tangerine citrus notes with the sweetness added. The taste seems to shows some coconut hints blending the citrus and other fruity gems. That waxy coconut feel seems to linger on the tongue. Decent hazy, juicy Pale Ale.

#4546 Sons of Kent Brewing Full Blast V3: Juice Box from Chatham, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.5 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Can under "Juicy Box Hazy IPA" that pours a slight hazy golden colour with a frothy-bubbly white cap, good stay and some foamy-soapy lacing. The smell is more of grassy hops with the Simcoe and Mosaic, over the fruity base with Citra. The flavours are a little more juicy without too much crazy bitterness and grassiness. Gets hazy at last pour. Dry enough for a mouthfeel to be drinkable. Not bad overall.

#4545 Great Lakes Brewery 7 Barrel Series: Voodoo HazeMama from Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Score: 4 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 8 | Overall 8 |
Hazy golden-orange colour with a big frothy off-white cap, good retention and some foamy lacing streaks. Beautiful fruity aromas of tropical fruits (mangoes) and some hints of kiwi-strawberries. Lots of the tropical fruits (mostly mango, papaya) in the taste with some nice bitterness in the finish. A dry mouthfeel lingers. Nicely juicy with the IPA ending. A slightly different, well-brewed NEIPA.

#4544 Spark Even Downtown - Citra from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.8 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 7 | Overall 8 |
500ml bottle from the brewery, pouring a hazy, light golden-yellow with a bit frothy white head, good retention and some foamy lacing. Aromas are well-blended between the Citra hops that give those citrus notes and the sourness. Remind me a lot of gooseberries. Same for taste... some sourness, some mild grassy citrus notes. Dry finish. This is quite a nice dry hopped sour ale that is well balanced.

#4543 BrewDog Hazy Jane from Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, United Kingdom
Score: 3.6 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 7 | Overall 8 |
Can that pours a hazy golden-orange colour with a bubbly-frothy white cap, good stay and some streaky foam lacing. Fairly grassy hops for a NEIPA, cutting into the juiciness. A bit less in the taste, but still too strong. Good bitterness, creating some dryness in the finish. Hazy, but lacking juicy. Good as a West Coast IPA.
