#2004 Noctem Humulus Felidae from Quebec, Quebec, Canada
Score: 3.9 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 9 | Overall 8 |
Tall can from Broue Ha Ha in Gatineau, QC. Pours an average size frothy white head and has a fairly hazy golden yellowish coloured appearance. Lively carbonation. Some big soapy lace remains. Aromas are citrusy, floral, some piney hops as well as various tropical notes. A little bit yeasty as well. Flavours are abundant with the tropical fruits, some pineapple, mangos, lots of citrus and hints of grass and wheat. A bit of yeast comes through as well. A mild citrus zesty tang finish. Smooth and slick mouthfeel with some subtle hoppy bitterness on the palate. Goes down quite easily and smoothly at 6.5%abv. So good.

Picked up a tall can from IGA, Cantley QC. Pours a fairly average size foamy white head, thick dirty lacing, has a hazy golden appearance. Lively carbonation. Aromas are very fruity, lots of tropical and citrus notes, some mild grassy and herbal hints. Flavours are quite juicy and fruity, more tropical fruits like pineapple, papayas, more of the citrus and grass as well. Some bitterness on the palate in the finish, nice and subtle. Goes down quite well for a strong IPA, at 7.5%. Could have a few of these no problem.

Picked up a tall can at IGA in Quebec. Pours a huge frothy white head and has a super hazy golden orangey coloured appearance. Big soapy lace remains. Lively carbonation. Aromas of citrus and floral hops, some grassy and pine as well. Flavours are quite similar to aromas as in citrus and grassy hops mostly, but also some pine and hints of tropical fruits but not overly abundant. For a session IPA, tons of flavour coming through. Good stuff!

Picked up a couple tall cans at the brewery, very limited run. Pours a fairly big frothy beige head that dissipates to a small foamy coating and leaves some thick dirty lacing behind. Has a cloudy coppery amber appearance. Moderate carbonation. Aromas of earthy and herbal hops, some mild wheaty and yeasty notes, hints of nutmeg. Flavours are mostly earthy and resinous hops, a bit piney and and some yeast. Some bitterness on the palate and a little bit dry. Pretty good stuff.

#1995 Saint-Bock Sanguinaire from Montréal, Québec, Canada
Score: 3.6 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 8 | Overall 7 |
Picked up a tall can at Broue Ha Ha in Gatineau, QC. Pours a massive frothy white head that sticks around for an endless amount of time, or seems like. Probably shouldn't have poured as quickly but normally wouldn't have this head! Super excessive carbonation. In any case, it does dissipate eventually to a fairly still big foamy head with super thick bubbly lacing. Has a hazy orangey coloured appearance. Not surprising. Aromas are pretty orangey, probably on account of the blood orange in there. Also some floral and grassy aromas. Flavours are equally citrusy and grassy, the blood orange is most noticeable, being not entirely orangey but with some slight bitterness on the end. Some mild yeast, grass, and a bit of wheat. Very subtle though. Dry mouthfeel. Full bodied. Overall, goes down quite well. Pretty good!
