This is the establishment near my house where I usually return all my empty bottles and buy a bomber or two or something. My recent trip found a much expanded beer selection, much to my delight. Their pricing also seems to have maintained or even dropped...pricing very comparable to my "beer home" Stateline Liquors in Elkton. The selection is still no Stateline, but they have many more craft beers available. They will let you mix up sixpacks, but only within a single brewer if all the beers are the same price. Oh well, at least it's something.

#1349 Sly Fox Brewhouse and Eatery, Phoenixville from Phoenixville, PA, USA
Score: 4.2 | Atmosphere 8 | Selection 10 | Value 9 | Service 7 | Overall 8 |
This is a great brewpub. They had 12 beers on tap. Samplers came with 5 beers. We said we wanted to try them all, so we ordered two samplers...and the waitress threw in 4 oz samples for the other two beers as well. The beers are of the highest quality. The atmosphere is nice...it's like a typical pub but a bright airy interior and it's really clean, too. Very close to Victory, so if you are in the area, swing by. Frankly, given the choice of a trip to Victory or the Sly Fox, I'm taking the Fox.

I had been eagerly anticipating my trip to the DFH brewpub for months. What a disappointment. Okay, the restaurant itself was nice. Atmosphere and service was ok. But I go to these places for beer...and was hoping to be able to try something other than their standard offerings. Their tap list included 5 beers (Shelter Pale, Indian Brown, 60 min IPA, 90 min IPA and Lawnmower Light - oh, and a black and tan), all of which are readily accessible at any local liquor store (except Lawnmower Light...but who cares about light). As a Delawarean, I wanted to buy a T-shirt and support my local brewery...only had size medium in the few T-shirts I wanted. Very limited bottle selection as well, and overpriced. They wanted $10 for 2004 WWS, which I can get at State Line Liquors for less than $7 (I thought you were supposed to save buying direct from the source?). None of the harder to find beers were available. How disappointing.

#1347 State Line Liquors from Elkton, MD, United States
Score: 4.4 | Atmosphere 7 | Selection 10 | Value 9 | Service 10 | Overall 8 |
This is the place to go to find those hard to find brews. The prices are among the best around. hey let you mix six packs and that rates a 10 in my service book. Atmosphere is a liquor store...what did you expect? It's worth it for me, a Delawarian to leave the land of tax free shopping for this place.

#1346 Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant from Newark, DE, United States
Score: 4.1 | Atmosphere 9 | Selection 7 | Value 8 | Service 9 | Overall 8 |
I've been there many times for lunch for work and the food is really quite good. I've had a few beers there and E is right, they are served too cold. The service was good and I like the atmosphere...a nice place. They have an okay selection of their brewed beers from different genres...maybe 6 or so.

I've only made one visit to this place, but would definitely like to go back. I had the Highlander Stout during happy hour ($2.75 for a pint, what a bargain!) and enjoyed it immensely. They have a good selection of their brews from different styles. I'd definitely like to try more. The atmosphere is kinda "barlike" which I wasn't overly fond of, but they did have a separate dining area that looked nicer. Didn't try any of the food, so who knows (but who goes to these places for food anyway?).

#1344 Victory Brewing Company from Downingtown, PA, United States
Score: 4.2 | Atmosphere 7 | Selection 9 | Value 8 | Service 10 | Overall 8 |
A nice selection of beers of various kinds. The brewpub looks like a combination of a cafeteria and a warehouse. It wasn't exactly "warm", but was a decent atmosphere. Around dinner time there were a good amount of families with children. I only had appetizers and they were good, but others seemed pleased with their meals as well. Not too sure about "value" as I was there with one of my consultants who footed the bill. =)

#1343 Brandywine Brewing Company from Wilmington, DE, United States
Score: 3.9 | Atmosphere 7 | Selection 9 | Value 6 | Service 9 | Overall 8 |
I visited the Brandywine Brewery one time while entertaining business clients. BB's own beers were quite tasty (not sure what kind of selection they had otherwise, because I was drinking the house stuff). The appetizers and main dishes were all excellent and everyone was very pleased with the evening. Unsure of how pricey the place was because everything was on the company tab. I'd definitely go back. Apparently, the Greenville location is now closed and rumor has it that they will be relocating to Wilmington (near the waterfront).
