Basically, this is where it all began -- The Legend of Tomme Arthur, and his tiny yet extrordinary brewery. Everything that the Pizza Port chain has become over the past years first took root at this location -- through either assistant brewmasters moving on to stake out their own fame and glory at other hop-spots around SoCal, or just the entire "craft pizza + artisanal beer = happiness" concept.

This is also by-far the smallest of the three Pizza Port locations. Tons of beaten down wood everywhere, picnic tables sanded smooth my years of heavy use, surf-boards from the rafters, surfer movies on the TV -- definately the "beach-iest" of the Pizza Port locations. Small, and perhaps a little on the cramped side of things when they're busy, but not too much so.

Standard Pizza Port operation, where you go up to a counter to order food, and wait `til you hear your name called.

A bit on the annoying side in the service department. The past few times I've noticed the bartender tends to dilly-dally with the regulars a bit too much at times. It's one thing for the cute female bartender to flirt with folks getting a few samplers of what's new on-tap -- I'm all for flirting, mind you! -- but when I'm thirsty and waiting in a slow-as-hell line to get a pint, you really need to speed things up a bit there, darling...!

Not quite as many offerings as the other PP locations -- another sign of it's age/senority, me'thinks. Typically around 6 Pizza Port offerings on-tap, sometimes something off the hand-pump cask-conditioned.., and 6 or so guest beers (mostly West Coast, though some a bit farther afield). Ussualy a very good range of beers on-tap.

Whatever special Limited Edition bottled offerings Pizza Port has available, they'll be sold here. Cuvee de Tomme, Santa's Little Helper, Dubel Overhead, Hop 15, SPF45, Mo' Betta Bretta, La Woody -- all have been available in 750mLs here at one time or another.

Overall, this place is something of an icon of San Diego brewing. Has some rougher spots around the edges, but is still well-worth checking out.

This is by far, by fuckin far, is the best brew pub in all of the san diego area. The pizza is great, many different choices, and the beer buddies rule. The service is excellent, the peeps on the taps know their shit. The beer they make is beyond awesome and they also tend to bring in some solid locals, this is a MUST SEE.

This tiny, little place is the home of the Pizza Port's. This is where the great Belgians come from. Too bad for me that it's the farthest one away. Any beer afficionado visiting San Diego MUST have a pint here and buy some bottles. World class beer in a little pizza joint

Outstanding beers - not only Tomme's own phenomenal beers but a few hand picked guest taps as well. THere are enough great beers on hand to spend the better part of an afternoon here. Great casual place with tasty pizza as well. If you're in the area don't pass this one up.

This was a great place to visit on my San Diego trip. The pizza was very good and the beer selection was great as well. Pizza Port makes some quality beers. The atmosphere is laid back. The service was ok but nothing out of this world. A must visit if you are going to be in San Diego.

Pizza Port in Solana Beach is a regular hangout of mine. I'm here at least once a week. The pizza is good, but a little pricey and the beer is great. They always have a good selection of their own brews plus at least half a dozen guest brews. Definately worth a visit.
