"Bottle courtesy of IMtheOptimator: Poured a hazy slightly dirty yellow color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of estery yeast and spices is quite dominant as well as some tropical fruit- like sweetness. Taste is spicier then I would have expected which might be from the spice mix use in this beer or from the yeast strain use in this beer. Body is quite full and alcohol is not discernable. I thought this was reasonably well done for the style and would mind having another taste of it."

"Pours a dark brown, basically black. Thick, foamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate and caramel. There is a very slight alcohol flavor, but nearly what I expected from an impy. Flavor though is excellent, with a great hop presense and chocolate undertones. (Thanks Dansting for getting this, and Cott for doing the trade)"

"Well first of all I have to thank Dan and Cott for getting me this brew.
It was darker than the inside of a burried coffin. The aroma was of toasted malts and coffee. I probably should of held onto this for another year then tried it because i was really disappointed in the lack of flavor for an impy. I've just had porters with way more flavor than this impy which bums me out. Now that I have the state of Conneticuit outta the way i'll get another bottle and cellar it for a year."

"Bottle. Poured a blackish-brown color with a nice light-brown head. Aroma was very coffee-like. Nice full mouthfeel. Flavor was a nice blend of chocolate malt and coffee. Not as much alcohol taste as I would have guessed. Solid beer. Thanks, Cottrell for the trade."

"I just picked this 1 Liter up not too long ago at Green's in Atlanta and I look forward to this brew because I have not had too many impy porters and the ones I have had, I enjoyed. The aroma is very chocolatey with hints of caramel, brown sugar, coffee, and maybe some slight toffee overtones and sweet malt. The appearance is a jet black and so thick and dark, light can not penetrate the contents and has a very carbonated head on top that is very large and a tan to a light-brown in color and only discipates while it sits in my imperial pint glass. The mouthfeel is very full-bodied with a whole lot of chocolate malt complexity with nice balance with a palate that is a bit dry but very thick and coating. The flavor is full of roasted malts, morning coffee beans, java, chocolate with an aftertaste that is a bit bitter and burnt tasting with some slight vanilla coming through as well as some tartness with a finish that is very robust but could be a bit smoother. Overall, a nice offering here for sure but the burnt and roasted malts may be a little overbearing and needs a bit more balance but all-in-all; I am glad I got some of this brew--man, the aftertaste is very bitter and very burnt as well as coffee-like.
