"650ml Bottle:
Poured a slightly hazed golden wheat ale in my weizen glass. Decent 2 finger fluffy cap with moderate retention and lacing. Lively carbonation.
The nose fills with wonderful dry biscuity malts and lemony hopping..really nice aroma.
Moderate wheat spine, spritzy biscuity-citrus character, meduin body.
Up front you get to chew on a fresh wheat cake then lemmony-herbal hops balance and take you to a dry clean finish with citrus notes and a biscuit aftertaste.
The malted wheat is well defined in this beer and it is a refreshing drink which differs from the sweeter banana-clove wheat ales of Bavaria. This Kristalweizen seems to stays true to the Berliner Weisse style in dry citrusy flavor but retains the body and alcohol grunt of the Bavarian style...nicely done...a great alternative to lager in the summer.
