"I tried this beer at the Minneapolis airport. Very nice thick head that lasted for awhile. The aroma was malty with chocolate undertones. Nice hop infused rich carmel and chocolate flavor. I would recommend this to anyone. I wish I could find this in Colorado. "

"I was really liking this one. Dark brown pour, nice head and lacing. Strong aroma of coffee, english malt and roast. As many stated, this defies style, part brown ale, part porter, part oatmeal stout...the best of each part. Caramel malt with roast, chocolate, oatmeal and nutty notes as well. Some sweetness, maybe bubblegum with a bitterness and even a sourness that was strangely pleasant. Wonderfully smooth and thick mouthfeel. Amazingly complex. Really excellent."

"Poured a dark brown color with red edges. good lacing and okay head. Aroma was of cocoa, and bublegum. Flavor was roasted, chocolate caramel as it warmed good beer. Much more like a porter then a brown ale."

"Can from brewfiend, poured a dark brown-mahoganey color with a 0.5cm thick head, thinning fairly quickly to a thin covering. The lacing was decent, though, spotty rings all the way down. The aroma was roasty cocoa, caramel, and bubblegum. The flavor was rather porter-like, roasty to slight ashy dry chocolate, some caramel, slight bubblegum, lactic/milky notes with warmer temperatures, finishing quite silky dry, much like an oatmeal stout would. Upon reading the description a few minutes later, indeed, the oatmeal wasn't just an impression, it's really there, neat stuff. Certainly, this beer defies a brown ale or oatmeal stout style, could certainly be an oatmeal porter in my mind. Mouthfeel isn't as fully as that achieved in an oatmeal stout, but the oaty dryness and silkiness is indeed there. Good stuff, Surly, and thanks much, Brad! Re-rate of second can at the end of the month: Not much of an opinion change: oatmeal porter, firm roastiness more noticeable this time."

"Dark amber colour, small brownish beige head. Aroma is fruits, spices and some hops. Flavour is spices, caramel and some flowery hops. Not very exciting, and quite watery. "
