"Quite a disappointment as far as I'm concerned. Did not live up to my expectations for a Stouds brew. Poured nice enough, with an amber color, but had little head. A thin ring of lacing is all. Aroma was somewhat weak, with an ever so slight bit of citrus present. Thin mouthfeel, damn near watery thin. Nothing in the flavor reminded me of a mai bock. I'd rather spend a couple more dollars and get Ayinger."

"My twin infants drink pear juice to help with their bowels. This beer smells EXACTLY like pear juice. Orangey yellow pour, little head, no lace. Flavor was like a honey/fruity syrup with a grassy hop finish that complimented the beer nicely, if not a bit out of place. Nice thick mouthfeel, almost like a thick fruit juice. If anything, a bit too sweet for easy Maibock drinking."

"My bottle was sublabelled blonde double bock. Ah, another American bock with a messed up overly grassy flavor (Smuttynose and St. Victorious the last two). Maybe I'll just give up on the lighter bocks at this point. I wanted more bread, more toastiness, and all I could taste and smell is light caramel and grassy hops. Kinda tasted like this one had grass mixed in with the malt, rather disappointing. Mouthfeel was light to moderate for the style. Got the color right (pale orange) and the initial head was nice and yielded great lacing."

"This pours crisp gold, stirring up a good head. Aroma of wet grass/hay and sweet grain. Smooth mouthfeel on a velvety body. A Leafy hop bitter presence throughout but not that bitter overall. A mild balanced finish. Some old citrus flavors, sweaty grain, and aromatic spices in the finish. drinks well. True to style of blonde double maibock. "

"The aroma is nice with some maltiness represented with maybe some sweet honey as well and also embellishes some grassy or hay aromas with maybe some ever so slight citrus notes that lurk below the honey. The appearance is a nice golden yellow with a head on top that has decent head retention but diminishes overtime to a light lacing that is white in color and leaves moderate lacing. The mouthfeel is light to medium-bodied with some nice grassy complexity with some solid malty balance with a palate that is a bit dry if not slippery. The flavor is malty and a bit sweet with some honey coming through and I am still detecting some citrus notes with an aftertaste that is dry and malty with a finish that is rather smooth but could be a bit smoother. Overall, not a bad mai bock here and offers some nice and fresh overtones and the alcohol is not too terribly noticed except when it comes to the mouthfeel and the finish and they are a bit oily. I like this brew for sure but I am not convinced I would want to drink many in one sitting; good stuff here. "
