"Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad, as Stoudt’s Old Abominable Barley Wine Ale, aged in a whiskey barrel. Hazy brown colour. Sweetish, malty and oaky aroma. Sweet, oaky and malty flavour, maybe too sweet. "

[2] Review by E from Spring Mountain, PA, USA who has tried this beer once. (12/9/2006 1:44:36 PM)
"Poured a hazy brown color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of apples, caramel malts, brown sugar, bourbon, and some piney, citrus fruits. Taste of citrus fruits, wood, more caramel malts, with light pine, and citrus, and some alcohol in the finish. Awfully similar to the non-BA version, with very light barrel presence. Little to no tannins from the wood, but it does dry out the taste at the end."
