"Sometimes you have no choice but to buy beer from a supermarket or convenience store with a limited selection. I always go for dark beers in these hard times, as they offer the most taste. Guinness, Modelo Negra, Heineken Dark, and this - St. Pauli Girl Special Dark.
It's good enough. I have no complaints about its price/ABV/pleasure ratio. It doesn't send me to the moon like a good dopplebock or imperial stout, but it'll do."

"Pours a nice clear mahogany with a decent sized, but not very persistent, tan head. Aroma is malty with just a hint of molasses, crisp like a typical lager aroma. Flavor is fairly smooth, malty with some hop bitterness and a subtle undertone of molasses or caramel. Texture is rather smooth, and it does dance a little on the tongue."

"It's hot, the grill is cooking up some chicken and corn, and I'm looking for a lager that refreshes but with more character and flavor than the general crap. This lager offers this in a deep brown body with a tannish head on pour. A roastiness in the nose and a coffee-cholate flavor that makes this the right choice for the day."

"Got this in a variety pack. Pours a almost pitch black body with a coffee brown head. Aroma was of nuts and coffee, with a snippet of chocolate. I would have assumed it would have a bold taste but was very mellow. Light chocolates and light caramels."

"Pours a dark mocha brown with a decent tan head and little lacing. Leaves little lacing. Aroma of malts, skunky, and hops. Tastes bitter, uneventful, skunky and bad."
