"Fränken Bierausflug, Day#4, Brewery#20, Beer#43. Vom Faß at the brewery before my meal of Frankisches Schweine Schäuferle mit Saurkraut und Kartoffel Klöße. Light amber with a thin tan head. Aroma of lightly smoked caramel malt. Fresh lively mouthfeel. Flavor of lightly smoked malt, light toffee, and a bitter hop edge. A long sweet-bitter finish. A very memorable setting, meal, and beer!"

"Drank this in Bamberg second week December '04. Classic bock with no smoke flavor. Rich maltz, delicate hop finish. More you drank a hint of vanilla developed,a long with bitter chocolate. This batch lasted less then a month, returned two weeks later to find it gone! Don't know how it is in bottles, but a real score at the source. "
