Black dogs's Winter Cheer ia a very hearty ale made from five different malts and three hop varieties. It has a deep copper color and its flavor balances the sweet malt with siginicant hop spiciness. The perfect beer to cheer up a winter's evening.

"Sampled on 12/3/2008. This amber ale pours a deep brown color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head, decent lacing and good retention. The aroma is chocolate and caramel malts, slightly sweet. A medium bodied amber. The malts are caramel and chocolate, semi sweet. The hops are earthy and floral. Some winter ale spices. Nice balance. Good carbonation. This is a decent winter beer, not bad to sit and sip by the fire. I mean there are probably a 100 other beers I would prefer to have but I could stand to drink this one all night. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. "

"Beer pours dark copper color with nice head and lacing. Aroma is of caramel malts. Flavor has a lot of bready/toasty/biscuity notes, subdued sweetness and dry finish. Some spicing as well. Not bad."

"Dark amber color with an inch thick light tan head and heavy lacing. Smooth feel with a medium malt body, quick bitterness. Pleasant aroma of caramel and sweet fermented red grapes. The malty, fruity aroma is backed with some floral hops. Flavor is spicy and flowery with caramel malt and a taste of fresh rolls. Moderate hop flavor and bitterness along with a sprinkling of dark fruits."

"This one poured a dark brown/copper color with a frothy sandy colored head. It had a nice hop presence in the aroma with a caramel flavor matched with roasted malt and a slightly dry finish."
