Heavy Weizen explores the inner depths of creativity and craftsmanship, taking a style of ale that is delicate and quaffable and shaping it into something exuberant and sturdy. The foundation of Heavy Weizen begins with prodigious quantities of North American malted barley and wheat. Next, the finest European hops are added to complement this ale's unique disposition by giving spicy aromas. Its spirit is forged during fermentation where our Bavarian weizen yeast consumes sugars and creates divine flavors reminiscent of bananas and cloves. Then, by aging this ale, we allow the divergent characteristics to blend together, becoming one. To capture Heavy Weizen's spirit, this wheat ale remains unfiltered to leave some of the yeast in the bottle. Serving this ale with a wedge of lemon is recommended, but optional. (2-row pale malt, malted white wheat, hallertau magnum, saaz)

"Cloudy vibrant yellow pour with decent head on the initial pour. Sweet fruity aroma. The flavor was a wonderful blend of bananas, cloves and wheat yeasties. A fairly good level of Euro hops made this enjoyable. The alcohol was noticeable, but not distracting one bit. I like this one."

"I lived in Germany for a while and consumed plenty of Weizens. This hefe is a fine example of a good Hefeweizen. Nice creamy head, fantastic yeasty/citrusy aroma, coupled with moderate hopping with some hop bite, classic hefe cloudyness and medium body, yellow amber hue and very refreshing. For what it's worth, this is an excellent wheat beer and will be enjoyed throughout the summer."

"A sharp creation, nicely magnified strong hefeweizen, exactly what it claims, intense, tasty. Pour was lacking the usual fluff head of a hefe, bu the rousing of the yeast kicked up an otherwise pretty hefe, maybe a tad more orange hues in there vs. some of the more golden colors typical of hefes. Aroma was strong cloves and bananas, very enticing. The flavor followed suit, blending together very nicely cloves and bananas nicely. Alcohol was smooth, could barely tell this was a strong hefe, although the malt/body was a little thicker and heavier. Kinda like a strong franziskaner, which isn't a bad thing by my counts (ie. a little sweet). With temperature, the flavor started to finish rather peppery. Body was full for a hefe style. Two thumbs up."
